The Government of Croatia is the executive branch headed by the President of Croatia. The President of Croatia can delegate the Prime Minister or Vice President to be the head of Government. After his/her election, the President decides what ministries should exist and their names.

The government's role is to exercise "general leadership of the public administration", elaborate strategies to implement the government platform, negotiate international treaties, etc. The Government of Croatia represents the state of Croatia both internally and externally and presents information to the citizens of Croatia.

The Government answers exclusively to the Congress of Croatia, and in extreme cases, may vote a motion of removal of the President, withdrawing its confidence and forcing the Government to resign.

The first official government that led Croatia was established in January 2009. The size of the cabinet and positions in the cabinet varied over time. All available information about the Government of Croatia can be seen in the Croatian politics menu below and above.

Croatian Council

When Croatia was announced (November 2008), experienced citizens gathered and established a Croatian Council - a team of Croatians who were to set up all of the ministries, offices, army and everything else needed for a country to function properly[1][2].
