Government of Germany

General Information Country Germany Established December 2007 Organisation Led by President Deputy Prime Minister

The Government of Germany is the executive branch headed by the President of Germany. The President of Germany can delegate the Prime Minister or Vice President to be the head of Government. After his/her election, the President decides what ministries should exist and their names.

The government's role is to exercise "general leadership of the public administration", elaborate strategies to implement the government platform, negotiate international treaties, etc. The Government of Germany represents the state of Germany both internally and externally and presents information to the citizens of Germany.

The Government answers exclusively to the Bundestag, and in extreme cases, may vote a motion of removal of the President, withdrawing its confidence and forcing the Government to resign.
