Ireland has a long military history filled with stories of blood, sweat, and tears. The geographic proximity and historical animosity between Ireland and the United Kingdom has made fierce battle over independence and influence a reoccurring event. Today Ireland has two world class military organizations in the Irish Defence Forces and the Irish Citizen Army. The small nature and fierce commitment of the Irish community have made military adventure an integral and engaging subject since day 1.

Icon-pact.gif Alliances

EDEN Military Alliance

Ireland was a founding member of the original Northern Alliance which fell apart when Norway left and annexed Finland and Russia. The United Kingdom, Norway and Sweden then formed the second Northern Alliance some months later, admitting Ireland shortly after. Following that Northern Alliance essentially became ATLANTIS, dropping Ireland, and taking on some other additions. For a long time after the formation of ATLANTIS, the country had been neutral, rarely taking sides in conflicts and staying well clear of alliances, some would say to the point of isolationism.

Despite seeming closed to the alliance, Ireland was also a founding member of the aborted European Social Alliance (ESA). Despite efforts from Theus Jackus (at that time the president), Kiemar (at that time a representative for Ireland in the ESA), and ESA representatives from other countries, the ESA ultimately failed to gather support and was disbanded. European ATLANTIS and PEACE nations refused to join due to potential conflicts of interest; this effectively crippled the alliance before it could start.

Ireland had donned a more open stance, showing a motion toward alliances, when it joined the Brolliance. The term Brolliance refers to the close relationship between Canada, the United States, and now Australia, Ireland and Japan. This relationship has been demonstrated many times, especially during World War III. The word "Brolliance" is a portmanteau (combination) of both the words brother and alliance. The successes of the Brolliance were promising indications of what success might be had in EDEN, do to the two alliances similar make-ups.

Icon-pact.gif EDEN

Ireland has had strong ties to EDEN in past months. In October 2010 through some later months, Ireland made membership in EDEN a major priority. At that time the two major alliance powers were EDEN and Phoenix. In the past, Ireland has had a rich history with the Brolliance which was a vague precursor to EDEN. Ireland was included as a full member of EDEN on March 9, 2011. Today Ireland's commitment to the alliance is cemented and its national army, the Irish Army, is always ready to make EDEN missions a priority.

Early Military History

BETA Period (Pre October 2008)

Ireland was one of the few remaining countries in the New World yet to face a real and serious attack on its original regions, though it had participated in a number of other conflicts. The first of which was Belgium-United Kingdom War though this was actually a voluntary merger. The next time Irish troops fought was in Switzerland, against French, Italian, and Pakistani forces during the France-Switzerland War[1]. ISDF forces led by Michael Collins defended from Bellinzona, Switzerland, and most gained several kills despite Switzerland being ultimately defeated in the end.

The ISDF also participated in the Indonesia-South Africa War, defending South Africa.[article] ISDF forces were deployed to Austin, USA, and were led by Wes Tanner, they were pulled out when the war was halted and were not redeployed. Irish forces also participated in the Second Sweden-Germany War on the side of Sweden returning home after the Swedish captured the German capital of Berlin.

At the outbreak of World War I, Victor Petrescu's government officially supported Romania, sending troops through the Provisional Government and ISDF declared neutrality, which continued when true Irish government resumed. However, the Irish Minister of Defense at the time Igor Thunderbrow did lead an unofficial group of fighters from Ireland to the defense of Hungary as part of the joint eIrish Republican Brotherhood & Irish Republican Army military action.

V1 Period (Post October 2008)

Home conflicts V1 Period

During this period, Ireland's only real involvement in world conflicts until 2010 was through various Training Wars, notably with Canada, the USA, Latvia/Lithuania and Malaysia. Though the alliance with Malaysia allowed Ireland to aid in their defense when they were attacked by Indonesia.

Irish soldiers in Defence of Southeast against British invasion

On June 18th, 2009 Irish President Nithraldur and United Kingdom President Kumnaa orchestrated the notorious Shannon Exercise, in which a dummy invasion of Ireland by United Kingdom was disguised as a real one in order to test the readiness of the respective armed forces and provide a much-needed boost to activity and fun to the populations, it succeeded at first but the training war contract was soon discovered and the truth revealed. The Irish Congress at least did not see the funny side however and tried to impeach Nithraldur, which ultimately failed.

In August 2009 Ireland signed a Multi protection pact with Greece to defend them from Turkish invasion Ireland hit a huge wall against the Phoenix forces and Turkey. Greece and IDF successfully defended Greece from Turkish invasion soon the Dáil rejected to renew the Multi protection pact because Greece officially joined EDEN.

On February the 14th 2010, Ireland declared war and attacked Norway, which had taken control of Northern Ireland after a tactical retreat by the United Kingdom during the EDEN invasion. Norway then retreated Northern Ireland to Ireland in order to prevent any distraction from their invasion. After the invasion broke in the Siege of London and the United Kingdom reclaimed the rest of its regions the Irish government refused to voluntarily return the region and so on the 23rd former UK President GLaDOS initiated a resistance war. This first war was unsuccessful though a second was initiated by Hassan Pesaran, also a former UK President, immediately after which was successful.

On April the 23rd Hungary attacked Croatian regions and in revenge Croatia opened fronts on Hungarian regions and this activated the MPP with Ireland. Irish Defence Forces helped Croatia succeed in defeating the Hungarian forces and advance through Hungary's Capital.

Deployment History V1 Period

In November 2009 IDF first deployment in a long time since Beta period the Department of Defence sent troops to Slovakia to defend them against the Hungarian imperialists but Slovakia failed to defend against the mighty Hungarian army and was wiped off the map. Soon, Slovakian Resistance Forces regained their regions at a later stage with international support.

Na Fianna soldiers in the India-Pakistan border

In January 2010, Pakistan region swapped with Serbia, giving them a border with India. As Indians had entered into a lease agreement with the USA, an enemy of Serbia, over their high-iron region Karnataka, India feared they would become a target and saw the move as an act of war. They declared their intent to attack Pakistan and the Irish War Council convened and decided that they would send the Na Fianna to assist India, though little has come of it[2].

V2 Period

Meanwhile in Europe, Spain invaded Italy in reprisal for their role in defending France, the War Council ruled to deploy one a unit of the Irish Defence Forces, the Dublin Fusiliers, to Italy in order to strengthen relations between the Entente and Ireland and to protect Italy's sovereignty[3].

On April the 8th 2010, Ireland deployed to Norway, which was under attack by United Kingdom after a political takeover by Russians and Serbians. Ireland sent their best units to defend Norway from the United Kingdom invasion but after Norway was nearly wiped off the map, Admins investigated and returned all regions to Norway because the Political Take Over was not acceptable. United Kingdom had put in Icon - Gold.gif 500 GOLD into this war by placing a hospital in one of Norway's captured regions which was sadly wasted. Ireland had made 4 soldiers in the top 50 total damage hits in these amazing battles.

On April 19th, Australia was under attack from Indonesia in Western Australia and Irish Defence Forces rushed to Australian aid and successfully defended the High Diamonds regions which was an important resource v2 titanium.

On April the 26th 2010, India was under attack from Serbia and Ireland agreed to send soldiers in aid to defend them against Serbian forces. The Defence of India was successful.

Later, the IDF also deployed to Canada to help their fellow Brolliance member in attacking the French nation. The offensive has so far been unsuccessful due to France's MPPs but Canada hopes to win as do their allies.

On May 17th 2010, the IDF deployed to USA to help their Brolliance ally USA to aid in their defense of Liaoning region from Phoenix oppressors. This was an unsuccessful deployment and resulted in defeat and Liaoning under Serbia's control. IDF fought in the biggest battle ever fought in history and should be proud of fighting in Liaoning.

The Great Poland Land Swap On June 20th to the 4th of July, Ireland,Poland and USA set up the Great Poland Swap Agreement which USA will give Ireland and Poland access to American high regions, North Dakota (Grain), South Dakota (Grain), Tennessee (Wood) and Illinois (Oil). Ireland agreed to take North Dakota (Grain) to boost their Food Industry for preparation for "eRepublik Rising" for rent of 200 Gold a month and Poland rent South Dakota (Grain), Tennessee (Wood) and Illinois (Oil) for a total of 800 Gold a month.

It had seemed for a time that the Polish land bridge was doomed for failure. With The Netherlands swapping into the UK and the British able to gain footholds in the United States, Canada and Ireland, the path had seemed effectively shut. And while both sides were plagued by Bugs, Poland got the worst of it, being unable to swap into Canada due to the Retreat bug, forcing the Poles to advance out of the UK and into Ireland proper. This set the stage for the epic clash as the United Kingdom went on the offensive.

The fate of the land bridge fell to the outcome of The Battle of Southeast Ireland, where an Irish defeat would have allowed the British to capture the Polish forces that were rallying in Cork. We all needn’t have worried. The British were defeated in that battle and the Poles were safely surrounded by Irish territory, which in turn permitted an offensive against British held Connecticut and New Jersey. With Britain effectively locked in, and half their country under the occupation of Sweden, Poland and the United States, the Poles had free reign to advance into North America and take possession of the surplus High Resource regions presently held by the Americans.

Poland has successfully battered its way through the United Kingdom following a Herculean effort by Ireland that has handed the Irish a crushing military victory that is bound to have serious long term repercussions for the Phoenix Alliance. It is also a catastrophic defeat for the United Kingdom, that proves once again they are only useful for serving as a roadway to North America.

This is the worst case scenario for Phoenix, as Poland has successfully escaped the confines of Europe, something the Alliance had been desperate to prevent. Indeed, Poland now has a clear shot into Asia should the Bro’s and EDEN decides to allow it. Phoenix could do nothing to prevent such a move. Securing High Resource regions in a friendly country also assure Poland will have a steady supply of Oil, Grain and Stone for V2. The latter being critically important for any country that wants to fight wars, as hospitals now have life spans. You also need more than one in a territory now. In retrospect, Phoenix probably should have done more, and should have relied less on a country that has never once succeeded in a military objective.

Operation Ireland's Call

Ireland had been struggling to get organized into the Military module and had very low supply stock which gave United Kingdom advantage to attack Ireland's main food supply, Dublin. This event occurred around in the month of June and early August. The UK opened a front in Dublin and the six counties, including Northern Ireland. The Irish Defence Force tried very hard to defend Northern Ireland but they focused on Dublin which was their main defence target. The United Kingdom successfully conquered Northern Ireland and failed to conquer Dublin. Irish Country President irishbhoy1967 opened a number of fronts on the United Kingdom which activated their mighty MPPs. Also, irishbhoy1967 was responsible for the low supply of the Irish Defence Forces when he locked them out of the organizations and he successfully returned some of them but he refused to give back the rest for some silly reason.

Dáil Éireann impeached irishbhoy1967 for his actions for activating the MPPs of United Kingdom and stealing Irish Defence Forces supply. Successor 5n4keyes took over and his first act was getting State jobs on the market to boost IDF's supply and revive the Private Sector. This was a success but not many Private Companies came back to life. The United Kingdom opened the second front on Ireland in Dublin and this region was successfully conquered by the UK because of their mighty 9 MPPs irishbhoy1967 activated. On a strange day, eRepublik's Phoenix Presidents John Bartlett of the United Kingdom and Igor Elez of Serbia were hacked by an unknown citizen. The hacker opened numerous battles and the UK lost 2 important MPPs, with Russia and the Netherlands. With Phoenix members busy with many battles around the world, this gave Ireland a chance to regain Dublin and this happened on Day 992 when they successfully captured 99 % of tiles and the Capital. The credit goes to the President of Ireland 5n4keyes and members of the Irish Defence Forces High Command for their effort in regaining Dublin. This event occurred in August 2010.

Operation "Brits Out!"

On September 24th 2010, Ireland's Country President Nogin the nog accomplished her goal to capture Northern Ireland from British control to unite Ireland. The Irish Defence Forces were preparing their brave Irish soldiers for the biggest battle in the Irish military history. Ireland succeeded in capturing Northern Ireland without getting it land swapped for the first time in Irish History and most importantly, Ireland played with strategy while UK's MPPs were busy in Hungary. The Croatian Army lent support by taking the UK by surprise in under 20 minutes. Ireland's greatest warrior Donovan Thomas took Ireland's Battle hero and with it, took Ireland to glorious victory.

V3 Period Military History

November 5, 2010. Ireland has taken Northern Ireland and Canada moves south of Scotland to press central UK

During the October 2010 presidency of Connell Rath, the developers created a new military module which pitted players from each side against each other randomly, thus eliminating the individual strategy elements of war. Under this new system, small countries like Ireland were at a great disadvantage due to the advent of swarm wars where a population was often a determining factor of war. Ireland had only recently obtained Northern Ireland, but because of these changes to the war module, Northern Ireland once again fell to the United Kingdom.

At one point the British, now in a position of advantage, made an assault on Dublin and put Ireland in severe turmoil. Eventually, Ireland's defence forces became organized and adjusted enough to repel these attacks and return Dublin to Irish rule. Some of the advantage that the UK had gained were later counteracted by the relatively small size of the UK in comparison to other high profile powers. The UK, distracted by assaults from Finland's assault and occupation of Scotland, were neutralized for the time being.

November 18, 2010. Ireland holds Northern Ireland, Wales, and moves toward the West Midlands. Canada (pink) controls Scotland and the rest of northern UK.

The slightly later addition of the ability to join allies in battle, forced a sway in advantage back to Ireland. With Connell's more focused initiative to join Ireland into EDEN (one of the worlds two major military alliances), Ireland was gaining allies both officially and in spirit. Many nations, from passed alliances with Ireland, assisted with the defence of Ireland and made an assault on the shores of a fragile United Kingdom. By November Ireland had managed to once again recapture Northern Ireland, and Canada began to work its way south from recently occupied Scotland (Finland had lost the territory back to the UK previously), and deeper toward England's heart: London. As Canada took parts of Northern England Ireland would eventually take Wales and begin a press into the West Midlands. Ireland had convinced two of the three best players of the time to come and help Ireland win Wales by moving to Croatia (Ireland's only ally). Moral was high in Ireland, but the glory was to be short lived.

Invasion of Ireland

The balance of isles was tilted strangely; Ireland with only one ally equating to a combined force of about 8,000 citizens at maximum potential, was making an advance on the UK who had 12 allies meaning about 65,000 citizens at its combined maximum potential force. A correction was bound to be made, since even though Ireland had the support of EDEN, it was still not benefiting from the alliance system. Because of the mechanics of the new war module Ireland could gain no advantage by strategy (number of players and gold reserves are the two overwhelming factors). Outnumbered 8:1 Ireland failed to take the West Midlands and the UK decided that they were done allowing Ireland to take its territory. The UK attacks Connecticut, Cork, as well as Shannon. All three territories are lost without much dispute from the tired and battered Irish, who had just retreated from West Midlands to try and regroup. All hope is not lost however, negotiations are in progress to renew an alliance with the United States that had only just ended. In the meantime Canada has managed to take one more region from the UK: the East Midlands. The Irish, very low on health and weapons, begin resistance wars and wait on news from the West.
November 21, 2010. The UK continues into Louth and Wexford.

By the 21 of November Ireland is in severe distress. As the UK continues its monstrous invasion plot, Ireland loses Louth as well as Wexford. In effect, Dublin is surrounded. It seems as if the UK is planning a symbolic take over rather than a strategic one. It is speculated that they plan to save Northern Ireland for last, and work their way through all of Ireland's native territory. The UK buys all of the food off of the Irish food market in order to starve the already hungry defending armies. They begin an attack on the Irish Pound, which is already still in the process of recovering from past mishandling. In order to stop the continuation of Irish market evaporation by the Brits, an embargo proposal was quickly submitted and accepted. While the food was scarce in Ireland, Irish now living in occupied British territories are able to work for British companies, earn British Pounds, buy British food, and then use the British economy against the British in resistance wars. Canada began attempting to make war on the British in the territories stolen from Ireland.

November 22, 2010. The United States saves Cork, while Canada saves Shannon. Ireland and the UK continue to fight over the remaining regions.

On November 22nd, the war continues. The United States and Canada both fight hard in Ireland's aid. Canada would save Shannon while Cork would be rescued by the United States. Canada takes over Wexford, but Louth and Northern Ireland both remain under British rule. Although the UK has seen its territory dissolved, its lost population is almost nothing. For a long time now the UK has used London as a bees nest where thousands of their citizens take residence. This protects them from losing citizens and power to the occupation. Canada and the United States are both in the process of negotiating with Ireland for an MPP. Before the end of the day, the Ireland/American alliance goes through.

A British soldier stalks the streets of Belfast, Northern Ireland.
November 26, 2010. Canada is holding Shannon and Northern Ireland, as Ireland itself has recovered much of its land. The UK is mostly occupied by Canada and in the southwest the United States. By this time Ireland has lost Wales.
Canada and the United States very near destroying the United Kingdom

Shortly after Ireland and Canada would also sign an alliance.

For the majority of the remainder of the month, Canada protected Ireland by occupying Shannon and Northern Ireland. The USA and Canada came from the north and south of the UK and began to fight toward London. They had the UK down to only London but the stronghold proved to be a great obstacle. By December the UK had pushed both Canada and the USA out of their territories. Much of this was due to France attacking Canada in Nova Scotia and moving north-west. The result was that Canada had to re-prioritize militarily. Not only did the UK take back their original territories, but on Ireland's front, they took Shannon and began a full-on attack against Ireland. They also would attack Canada in concert with France. By the time John Gormley is elected the new Country President of Ireland, only Southeast Ireland remains. Ireland faces dark times as companies and citizens are taken into the UK system and forced to go through the motions of moving and reorganizing.

December 6, 2010 (the day after CP elections). The UK takes Ireland by storm. Only Southeast Ireland remains.

On December 7, 2010, the UK actually manages to take over all of Ireland. No Irish territory remains anywhere on the map, and all companies, parties, or organizations become British. Through revolution wars and further assistance from allies like the USA and Canada, Ireland eventually recreates itself. This event comes to be referred to as "The Wipe of Ireland" or the "Rebirth of Ireland". New Parties and companies have to be created. For a long time the USA remains in control of Shannon and Wexford. Northern Ireland remains in the control of the Brits. Military action becomes focused on retaining borders, and no more war is fought on Irish soil, as the UK is satisfied with their considerable symbolic victory, and Ireland is smart enough to lie low for a while.

Post Invasion

Following the Invasion, Ireland is faced with an uneasy peace. For the next month the only battles occurring on Irish soil are friendly training battles and land swaps among Ireland, Canada, and the USA. Canada is given Shannon in a land swap so that no MPP is necessary (since Shannon boarders all of Ireland's territories). In the case of another invasion, Ireland would theoretically be sound by the defence of Canada in Shannon, and the USA in Southeastern Ireland. Ireland would assist Canada against attacks from France on Nova Scotia, PEI and other Atlantic provinces. In addition, proud Irish soldiers could be found defending the USA against attacks on Hawaii by Japan. In January of 2011 when Croatia fell subject to many military conflicts, members of the newly formed Irish Army (more information below) went to great lengths to help defend their brothers in Central Croatia.

The Creation of the Irish Army

Main article: Irish Army

Following the elections in January of 2011, CelticTiger211 (The new CP of Ireland at the time), Marcus Suridius, and Orangejuicemmm created an entirely new military force for the defence and military action of Ireland. The Irish Army is this new military organization, and it replaces completely, both the Irish Citizens Army (former-unofficial) and the Ireland Defence Force (former-official govt). This is a major stride in Ireland's history because of the conflict that took place between these two military organizations. Blood, sweat, and bullets are now spent around the world by Irish soldiers, in Russia, the Pacific, Croatia, Atlantic Canada, and the Ukraine among other places.

In a military dispute in Galicia and Lodomeria, on behalf of the Ukraine, Ireland places three Irish Army soldiers in the top five heroes of the battle.

Members of the Irish Army work for Army companies in exchange for supplies like food and weapons. Discussion and orders are relayed through the Armies forum and on their IRC. As this new united army is born, the world is forced to take notice. The more professional and organized force, is an international class military machine and all those who know of it, either fear it or exult in the idea of calling it an ally.

Alliance With China

In February of 2011, Ireland joined a temporary MPP alliance with China. The alliance was struck in order to allow Ireland to freely join China in the war against North Korea: providing military assistance while acting as a valuable skill and experience building opportunity. This alliance would prove to be valuable and successful for Ireland before the MPP ended later on.

Membership in EDEN

On March 9, 2011, Irish CP 05637716 announced that Ireland had been unanimously accepted as a full member of EDEN[4]. Ireland had been interested in membership for almost a year, but events during this month proved ideal. World military alliances had turned uncertain. Many countries were forming new alliances, and it was becoming unsure as to where many loyalties and intentions stood. This uncertainty may have contributed to Ireland's being so wholly accepted after so many years. On top of this, Ireland had recently re-organized and re-defined itself. The Irish Army had quickly made an impression since it's creation in January, three months previous. It is likely that Ireland's improved performance over the past months, had also made it a more attractive addition to the already strong EDEN line up. In any case, Ireland would now be in the desirable position, of having many powerful allies and international friends.

Romania March 2011

Following Ireland's full membership in EDEN, a notable endeavor was made by the Irish Army to battle alongside Romania against the Republic of Moldova. In this battle, which took place in Transnistria, Irish citizens of the Irish Army fought hard and helped Romania in attempting to hold on to the territory. In the end, the Republic of Moldova won the resistance war to hold off Romania, but this war helped show the Irish Army's commitment to EDEN and skill in battle. Despite Ireland's efforts, a later MPP proposal in March was ignored by Romania.

Ireland/UK Conflict May 2011

May 15, 2011 - Ireland is under attack from the UK.

In May Ireland narrowly passed a proposal to declare the UK their natural enemy[5]. Originally this proposal was intended to be passed only if the UK's own natural enemy proposal passed first (which it did not). Because of mixed communications, the proposal was approved anyway.

Ireland then attacks Wales and conquers the territory on May 11. The result is that Ireland loses Mutual Protection Pacts (MPPs) with the USA, and Brazil, who are at the time already in MPPs with the UK (any MPPs that are held by both the aggressor and the subject of a natural enemy declaration are taken away from the aggressor). This means that Ireland has wasted thousands of IEP on abolished MPPs. Regardless, Ireland is no engaged in full war with the UK.

Ireland then attacked West Midlands, UK on May 12. On the same day, the UK start a resistance war to get back Wales. Ireland would eventually lose the battle for the West Midlands. A second MPP is accepted with the USA[6] after their MPP with the UK expires. Another proposal for an MPP with Brazil is rejected by the Dail[7]. Later, after losing Wales back to the UK, the UK begins on the offensive.

On the 13th, the UK take Dublin. Ireland proposes an alliance with Greece. On the 14th the UK take Louth, Ireland. Ireland is fighting many losing battles, even with the help of tanks and foreign allies. By the 15th the UK have won a strip of Ireland (the island) from Northern Ireland to Louth to Dublin, and they are in the process of taking Wexford.

By May 17, 2011 the UK had taken Wexford. Ireland then calls in its favours and the support of many allies to Ireland and the UK attacked Cork, the main population base of Ireland. In Dublin a resistance war was started. Suddenly many former Irish citizens were coming to Ireland's aid. Many Greek players came to Ireland looking to help and some looking for citizenship. The Libertad was one of the main militias to help Ireland, and they were especially present in the resistance war in Dublin[8] along with The Knights Who Say Ni. In the battles for Cork Croatia's Romper was incredibly instrumental as he was consistently the top battle hero for Ireland. In all the battles Ireland's soldiers were highly active alongside their many EDEN allies. Ireland would eventually win the battle for Cork and win the resistance war for Dublin.

May 25, 2011 - Ireland the nation holds all of Ireland the island.

Continuing with the support of Ireland's military forces and many international allies, Ireland continued to push back the UK. Ireland began to win back it's native territory and even began to push into regions held by the UK. By May 22 Ireland had back it's regions and had conquered Northern Ireland in time for congress elections. By the 25th of May Ireland (the nation) was in occupation of the entire island of Ireland. Ireland even made attempts to take over Wales while in the meantime the Natural Enemy status of Ireland to the UK expired and Canada took over Scotland. Ireland secured Northern Ireland in various revolution wars from UK citizens. During these battles players like Romper and ChewChewShoe were important for Ireland while Alfagrem was the major UK tank. On May 29 Ireland was able to conquer Wales, but in the next two days both Northern Ireland and Wales were re-taken by the UK.

Continuing into June 2011

June 8, 2011 - Ireland is under attack from the United Kingdom and has lost Shannon.

At the same time as Ireland was changing their government for the new month, the UK was securing Louth against resistance war from Ireland. The UK had secured Louth earlier in the month. In the days following Ireland would have to do battle in Mayo, Northern Ireland, Wales, Louth, and West Midlands. On the 5th, the UK renewed natural enemy status against Ireland. On the 6th, Louth was secured from the UK, but on June 8 Shannon was taken over by the UK.

June 10, 2011 - Ireland wins battles over Shannon and Wexford.

On June 9, 2011, the UK attacked Wexford, Ireland, but by the next day, Ireland had secured the territory by winning all eight battles. Also on June 10, Ireland resistance warred Shannon back into its control.

Now having full control of its territories, Ireland made efforts to offer peace to the UK. EDEN was in trouble, and Ireland's CP, Irasian, wanted to focus on repaying the help Ireland's allies had provided through the battles.

On June 12 a peace treaty with the UK was announced by Minister of Defence, Chance Harrison[9]. The details were that Ireland would give the UK Shannon temporarily, and that the UK and Ireland would have peace. Some of Ireland saw this as surrender, while others viewed it as the only way to appease the UK's childish desires. Ireland had lost interest in a war with the UK and wanted to focus efforts on repaying allies and fixing EDEN.

After Ireland gave the UK Shannon, the UK betrayed the peace agreement and attacked Wexford immediately. The British defended their actions by saying that while their President had accepted the offer, their Congress had rejected it, so there had never been a peace agreement. Irish officials condemned the actions of the UK[10].

For the next several days the UK attacked Ireland relentlessly. With EDEN suffering badly, and most of Ireland's allies occupied with their own battles for survival, Ireland was losing battles without much resistance. By the 19th Ireland was down to one region, Mayo, and as the UK attacked there, not much hope of a come back remained.

On June 20 Ireland was completely conquered by the United Kingdom.

British Occupation of Ireland (July and August 2011)

The military forces of the UK are well supplemented by allied ONE forces such as Serbia. Because Ireland is a small nation, without significant allied support it will be unable to mount a successful resistance to British Occupation for months to come. Support from Ireland's alliance, EDEN, is crucial to any resistance efforts, yet the powerful nations of EDEN remain occupied by enemy invasion forces of their own. Although Ireland is able to take back some territories for a short time, the overall effect is that Ireland is occupied by the UK.

Under the administration of newly elected Country President Chance Harrison and his Ministers of Defence (Ministers: Seanan and Patrick O'Leary Deputy Ministers: Ian Passmore and D-Glennon) efforts are made to have Ireland's soldiers fight in EDEN battles abroad. This is in order to end the international conflicts sooner, which have been taking priority over Ireland's war with the UK for powerful EDEN nations. Despite these efforts, Canada and the USA among other allies are under attack and unable to come to Ireland's aid, and so Ireland remains completely wiped for 28 days from June 28 until July 18 (far longer than ever before in Irish history).

On July 18 Ireland takes back Cork in the revolutionary war and begins a wave of resistance wars that would see all regions returned by July 28. Unfortunately, the total victory would be short lived and just the next day Ireland would return to struggling in the war with the UK. By the 23rd Ireland is back losing regions and has lost Louth, Shannon, and Wexford. Only a few days after being completely liberated Ireland falls back into being completely conquered by the UK.

By the beginning of August Ireland is still completely conquered by the UK, but before the August 5 Country President elections are able to gain back all regions except for Louth. This is the Ireland that Irish_Rebel_Reborn and his Ministers of Defence (Chew-Chew-Shoe and Patrick O'Leary) would begin their administration over after the CP elections.

On August 10, Ireland is down to one region, Dublin, but the next day they lose Dublin but take Shannon and Cork. Regions continue to change back and forth unpredictably until on August 11 Poland is proposed as a natural enemy of Ireland in order to assist USA in taking back its regions.

At the time the northeastern shoreline of the USA is under Polish occupation. News of this declaration of war is generally regarded by citizens of Ireland as noble, but it is well known that Poland is one of the strongest nations in eRepublik and Ireland is badly outmatched. It is also interesting that before Poland began an invasion of North America (Canada and the USA), Ireland and Poland had very good relations for nations of opposing alliances. Poland had even once fought alongside Ireland in the war against the UK very recently.

On August 13th, Massachusetts is taken by Ireland's military forces and allies against all odds during an Irish lead war of liberation. As a follow up on the 14th New Hampshire is also taken by an Irish front. Having succeeded in two battles where the odds were stacked against her, Ireland declares mission accomplished. On the same day, a proposal passes to have the UK declared the Natural Enemy of Ireland.

On the 15th, Ireland gives a liberated Massachusetts back to the USA, and by the 17th, New Hampshire has also been returned by Ireland to its ally. Meanwhile, also on the 17th, Ireland loses Cork in an attack by the UK, but resistance wars Shannon back into Irish control. As before the stability of Ireland's control over its native regions is weak, but the island has not yet been wiped.
