Lonestar (born on Day 12 of the New World) is a traded account that originally belonged to a Swedish player and was one of the oldest and strongest citizens of the New World. The original owner quit playing in December 2010 and then gave the account to a new Swedish player called Riku von Drake. After the account changed hands, Lonestar/Riku was very active on the Swedish forum and very involved in The Swedish Military for 2 more years before he decided to quit playing.
Difficult beginnings
Like most new players were the first months very interesting and amusing, however throughout day 2, day 3, day 4, day 5 and day 6, Lonestar didn't play at all. The game was in fact completely forgotten, but on the seventh day, he was however forced back into the game by the person who had recruited him, then the Party President and founder of Sweden's largest opposition party, FRONT, an incredibly wealthy player called icehacker. He forced the Lonestar into FRONT and since Lonestar was a bit half-interested in the game, and needed something to do, he got himself involved in party politics and candidates for Congress. He was however not elected, Lonestar ran in Bohus region, but an MSAP member who had the same number of votes was elected as that player had more experience points than Lonestar. After another month of activity and many published articles, Lonestar ran for Congress again, this time he wasn't elected either, as a communist party, MSAP, in the last minutes used vote coordination to secure the spot for Radsoc.
It is likely that Lonestars disdain for vote coordination in connection to Congress Election has its origin in this election and the loss of his seat. Although Lonestar has participated in vote coordination and votes as instructed by his Party Leadership, during his many months as Party President, Lonestar has never used vote coordination.
A fresh start
After the election was Lonestar's interest in politics is very low, he thought about getting involved in something else and try to see the world outside Sweden. After having had contact with a Canadian friend who he met on IRC, he chose to enlist in the international private military Ultor Corporation. Lonestar was immediately thrown into conflict between Greece and Turkey where Ultor had been hired by Greece to just do lots of damage. In that war served the Lonestar a lot of money when his Swedish mentor, the plasma was a large number of weapons business that made him easily could get hold of cheap weapons while he charged Ultor to normal. Lonestar planned to leave Ultor after the group's contract with Greece ended. Turkey had expressed interest in the Group and Lonestar was one ATLANTIS (an alliance such as Greece and Sweden belonged) supporters, who during that time was at war with PEACE GC (such as Turkey and others to hear).
With money in his pocket, a little more experience and a lot of new knowledge about the military module, Lonestar returned to Sweden. He was quite tired of FRONT and icehackers company politics so Lonestar chose to test new areas and joined Flashback Sweden. He involved himself in politics just as he had done in FRONT and noticed a big difference, in Flashback Sweden there were no rules or opinions that were written in stone. All members could think and do whatever they wanted as long as they were working for a better Sweden, a policy that Lonestar loved since he was more free-thinking and innovative than most of the member of Flashback Sweden.
Starting a Company
After a few days he met Crazyrfrog11, according to Lonestar, a really nice guy, Crazyfrog11 had a few thoughts on how the game could be fun, so he told Lonestar that companies were a pure gold mine. Said and done, Lonestar, Crazyfrog11 and one other friend to Lonestar that he got to know in FRONT, thaboss, started two weapon companies. The companies were really a pure gold mine, Lonestar got responsible for managing the company when the others realized how good he was with business and economics. Entrepreneurship went wonderful and after a few months, the business empire with over 10 companies was valued at more than 700 gold, a massive sum at the time.
The Swedish Military
Lonestar had signed up for the Swedish armed forces when he came home from his travels abroad since he had more experience than most others who had played just as long, he got a direct ticket to the better part of the armed forces and were placed in Pluton Wolf. As the weakest and youngest member, he was helped by one of the older members of the Platoon named Dirty Harry, who then became one of Lonestar's closest friends. Dirty Harry helped Lonestar with most things, he showed him how to act in the Armed Forces, whom to ask to get supplies and how you knew how much money you could ask for from the military. The Pluton Wolf was created by Platoon leader Graytuna and his deputy Gotalejon, these two had become more and more inactive, so Lonestar talked among his platoon friends and then did a poll if he was trusted to take over command of the platoon. Graytuna wrote a post three days after the thread was started, and apologized for his inactive and appointed Lonestar as his successor. The outcome of the vote was 29 for Lonestar to take over, 1 blank vote and 0 against, the leaders of the Swedish Military agreed that Lonestar could take over command as the Platoon leader. Lonestar thanked for the trust and made Dirty Harry and Alexmedh as his deputies, Alexmedh had become something of Lonestar's wingman and Dirty Harry was one of Lonestar's mentors.
Lonestar as Platoon leader
The first change that Lonestar did was to place all 30 platoon soldiers in smaller groups compromised of with a leader and ten soldiers in each group. Lonestar was the officer in Group 1, Dirty Harry in group 2 and Alexmedh in group 3. Then he donated three of his own weapon companies to platoon and put all the soldiers to work in firms while he took care of the business side with raw materials. The soldiers were working with low pay and the weapons that were manufactured were sold and the money spent on raw materials, the weapons that were left over were distributed to soldiers. The system was soon adopted by several other Platoons in the Swedish Military and later became part of the Swedish Military Weapon Distribution System. For over 12 months Lonestar was the platoon leader, during that time he managed to make Wolf to the Armed Forces' most effective platoon. Following this success, Lonestar was asked by President Rydekull if he wanted to serve in his government as Deputy Minister of Defence. As Lonestar had become very interested in the Military aspect of eRepublik and wished to learn more of the Swedish Military's inner working, he accepted the position.
A career in politics
As Deputy Minister of Defence Lonestar was involved in almost all of the offensive and operations that the Swedish Military was involved in, he was extremely interested and quickly learned how the military module worked. While Lonestar was the Deputy Minister of Defence, he was also in the Swedish Defence Management and gained access to the Swedish Military Headquarters were plans were discussed and Sweden offensive against other countries took shape. After a month's time as Deputy Minister of Defence Lonestar was asked to become the Commander of the Swedish Army, responsible for the entire Swedish Military and all of the soldiers. During this period he developed the military so that it just became like the Pluton Wolf and the Swedish Military flourished. In addition, he sent recruitment messages to more than 2000 Swedes and the armed forces received hundreds of new players and this started the golden age in the Swedish Military. It became larger than ever before with hundreds of active combatant, the leaders were talented, full of knowledge and really wanted to do the best with the armed forces The Minister of Defence was ThomasP87, one of Lonestar's closest friends, Deputy Minister of Defence was the Kongo Ogbi and the Supreme Commander were Lonestar, for over three months (longer than any other leaders in Swedish history was active) were friends together, loads of foreign regions were conquered and hundreds of new players were recruited to the Armed Forces.
Trolls and the U.S.
But all didn't appreciate how Lonestar and his friends quickly rise in ranks and one of Lonestar's arch enemies, neppons, wrote together with eight other players a farewell letter in which they said goodbye to the armed forces. The reason was that Lonestar had organized an anti-PTO group when Sweden was threatened by a Serbian PTO Group who wanted to take over the country. One of the members of the group had made a U-turn and become a congressman and didn't quit, and neppons blamed Lonestar. All in all, they took a small problem that had nothing to do with Lonestar and made it to a huge problem. Lonestar took the bull by the horns and sent in his resignation to the President (Dandersson), Dandersson threw it, however, into the trash and then summoned all who had signed with neppons. All but two got convinced that it was wrong, most didn't even know that they had signed and immediately removed their names from the article. Lonestar continued as the Supreme Commander but he declined to continue for another month when Dandersson didn't want to continue as the President. He chose to put Alexmedh as a Platoon leader at Wolf and nattzor as his successor as Supreme Commander. Then he did something that surprised many and moved to the U.S. and signed up with the United States Marine Corps with one of his closest friend from Croatia, HisAirness.
