The National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (Filipino: Pambansang Ahensiya sa Ugnayang Intelihensiya), abbreviated as NICA, was a cabinet-level agency in the Philippines responsible for identifying threats to the security of the Philippines, either by people, organizations or other nations.
Various presidents have renamed the agency throughout its history: Department of Intelligence (DOI), National Citizenship and Immigration Services (NCIS), Bureau of Immigration (BOI), and Philippine Immigration Bureau (PIB).
History
The National Intelligence Coordinating Agency was created on 30 June 2009 under the Big Boy Bulley administration.[1]
While the agency was never disbanded, the last Director of Intelligence appointed was Grand Duke Lacon Yan in October 2012.
