Socialist Party of Austria was founded to serve as a voice for the Slovenian community in Austria.

It was succeeded by theAustian Liberal Party in November 2008. At the time before its transformation, it had as many as 17 members. Its membership had as many as 3 seats in congress, at the last count before its tranformation.
