About him?
Somwhere in Time made an account as Merklin few days after the game showed up, but did not find it quite attractive so after 2 or 3 visits abandoned the game. Came back in March 2011 and was playing every day and developing his citizen.
In real life, he is Bulgarian, born in Varna on 26th of September 1980.
Why he is on the wiki?
There are a lot of things that can not be learned during regular gameplay. Of course, there are a lot of articles for new players but they do not tell everything. The solution? It is eRepublik Wiki. And ... oh, no - a lot of pages doesn't have Bulgarian version. So he decided to change this and help as much as he can.
Short history
A long time passed before he found his place in the game. Changed a few parties, tried to get into the barracks, with no success. Finally, a new party appeared, Bulgarian Reformists Party, trying to make a difference, and he becomes a member. On 25th of August was a Congress candidate dealing 7th place in his region - 3 votes needed to get in.
Military history
In the middle of July 2011, Merklin joined Bulgarian paramilitary squad ACO. Very active in team decisions, very active warrior, fastly raised in the squad and after just 2 weeks became a second-in-command. Future plans included creating of Junior squad for young players. Also was a proud member of Military Unit Drunken masters. Later in 2011, he made the Military Unit and was its Commander since then.
In May 2012, he left the paramilitary squad and joined the 8th squad of Bulgarian Army. In 2013 he joins MERCENARY OPS.
Political history
On day 1435 of the New World, he won his first Congress elections and became a Congress member in Bulgaria from Bulgarian Reformists Party. In October 2012 Merklin is elected again in the Congress, this time as a member of Silna Bulgaria. Eventually he got elected once more in the Congress.
Newspaper and Charity
First articles in his newspaper (Beer news) was for food give away.
He was a Mentor of one young but promising eRepublik citizen, hoping to find a few more like him. Most of the recruits in ACO's Junior Squad were supported by him.
Around day 1360 of the New World, Bulgaria fought a heavy and exhausting war against Turkey. A few days after a Peace treaty was proposed by the enemy and rejected from Bulgaria congress member, he wrote his most successful article - a pool for the citizen asking are they agree or not a Peace treaty to be signed. The result was a remarkable event - more than 90% of Bulgarian citizens supported the peace so the President and the Congress were forced to conduct a referendum. Based on the referendum results, the Peace treaty was signed on day 1366 from The New World.
