THC: The Higher Calling was a fully-functional military unit, founded on February 1, 2012, and operated as a party-funded force and was completely independent of funding from the United States Government. Under the direction of the U.S. Marijuana Party, it served as a partially-communing party militia as well as an outreach/mentor program. Both seasoned veterans and newly-born Americans could join. Food and weapons were available to members that worked in the military unit's companies.
It was under the command of Jude Connors, 2nd Commander being youngHOOD.
On the last member count before dismissal, the unit had 179 soldiers.
Structure
The Higher Calling was divided into two separate Divisions.
- First Division - communing members
- Second Division - non-communing members
First Division
The First Division will contain the communing members of THC: The Higher Calling. These members will work at a designated company for minimum wage and be supplemented with weapons and food. There will be no more than forty members at once and these members. First Division consists of the First and Second Regiments in the military unit.
Communes
The First Division is communal in structure. All fully active members are expected to contribute partially to the weapons and food that they receive. This generally entails working at a branch-owned company, rather than just any other company on the open market. In exchange for payment for their labor, members can expect a steady supply of weapons and goods on a daily basis. The theory behind this practice is that communes are much more effective at maximizing damage and supplying soldiers than simply allowing the soldiers to find their own jobs.
Second Division
The Second Division will contain all self-supplying members of THC: The Higher Calling. These members may work wherever they wish but will not be supplied with weapons and food.
Command Structure
THC: The Higher Calling had a simple command structure. The unit has three staff ranks which make up the command team, with each Regiment headed by a Captain, who was assisted by a Lieutenant.
