The Romanian (ATLANTIS) Campaign in Asia - Part I

For the citizens too young, for those who would like to remember, I will try to write in numbers the Romanian (ATLANTIS) campaign in Asia. This article will be poor in numbers but really I promise, I'll make up in the next ones:)

So here it goes:

In that time Romania was occupying almost all Hungary, Ukraine, big parts of Russia (including WSR Western Siberia). Indonesia at the same time was on the verge to erupt as a big empire pushing further and further its borders in Asia, South Africa and Australia. The big clash was about to happen.

Hungary was experiencing a huge baby boom, actually doubling their population, thanks to the Romanian occupation. They weren't any match for the Romanians, until the end of the Asian campaign they didn't win any battle one on one against a Romania focused only on them, still the Romanian president at that time dsalageanu realized the potential power of the Hungarian kindergarten and he tried (even in RL) to somehow get together with the Hungarian counterparts. Of course in that time Hungary attacked Romania (in Hungarian occupied original territories) almost daily, but it was like a mosquito would bite an elephant, so to speak.

This was the moment when dsalageanu stated with his "bigger picture" the foundation of the Asian campaign. One could say that he just tried to convince the Romanian citizens not to focus on Hungary (many were asking for the total annihilation of Hungary at that time). We will never know what was the reason, but Romania declared war to Indonesia and having common border the War was almost there.

Romania was ready, dsalageanu sent a public letter to the Indonesians and their PEACE allies asking them to stay straight and fight!

But what PEACE did wasn't quite the opponents would expect. They started switching the border territories between Iran-Pakistan-Indonesia. They avoided the war using what was called "morisca".

The Romanian president was very frustrated but still very impressed by that, he sent another letter and he tried to apply the same strategy in one of the Ukraine controlled territories. He was hoping to create a puppet state, in the case Hungary was making too much noise, to create a "partner" to apply "morisca" with. That RW medal it is still there, you can check it!

The result wasn't quite the expected one, Hungary did a Political takeover (PTO) and the Ukraine puppet state became a Hungarian one. PEACE would say that they liberated them. Don't believe them, it is just propaganda. They used only in their interest.

Anyways, the Indonesians were changing territories like hell (Gobba had a hard time to keep up with their work) so the Romanians didn't have anything else left just to apply the tactics. They promised that to the Indos opponents (you will see in the next article).

But when nobody would expect, the Indonesians did the unexpected:) and they attacked WSR, the big diamond on the Romanian crown! A little bit earlier the Hungarians did their daily job attacking Southern Great Plain.

And now let's the numbers speak:

[6074] Battle of Southern-Great-Plain (06 March 2009, 09:54)

The Romanians (fighting 900 against 2000 Hungarians) managed to defend Southern Great Plain. Still, the late Romanian effort should have been used in the next one:

What was that? They were a little bit more, same power, still, their GOLD has spoken very loud.
Maybe was just a fluke?
Not really! Next one came shortly after that in order to make their WSR a little bit safer.

"They have a lot of money, we have to bring a lot of people!", one thought.

Anyways, this was a big fall back for Romanians. Really bad. The media was screaming like hell. We were defeated and nobody expected that. After some time, the president, taking his second turn, got rid of the "bigger picture" and stated his main objective: to take the WSR back!

And he did everything to achieve that. He was one step further than his opponents. He brought in the most powerful allies from Atlantis. He masterminded a plan to switch territories with Norway and to get the Indonesian border back. So he did and on March 20, 2009, 13:01, we had the second battle of WSR, the battle that all the Romanians and their allies were expecting it:

[6144] Battle of Western-Siberia (20 March 2009, 13:01)

This was a huge victory, the power and finally the number of the fighters were the same, but still, Atlantis brought this time the tanking and sacrificing back in his yard. It was joy and everybody was cheering up. Romania and their allies were the best!

Still, the "bigger picture" was there in some minds. Got bigger and bigger...

The Romanian (ATLANTIS) Campaign in Asia - Part II

The moment was great for the Romanian Empire, still occupying big parts of Hungary, almost all the Ukraine (an exception being the Hungarian TOed territory). They had their WSR back proving to the Indonesians who are the Big Guy in the New World.

We were so happy and wasted at the same time that we didn't put too much effort in the next day after the WSR battle when Hungary attacked Northern Great Plain.

Still very good effort for Hungary! They took it and try it again in Northern Hungary, but not every day is Christmas:

After that Hungary seemed to be happy enough so they didn't do almost anything for the next 3 weeks. Anything else other than working on their kindergarten.

Romania, on the other hand, did their promise to the "switching border territories" states(Iran-Pakistan-Indonesia), successfully TOing Pakistan. Han Solo was the president and they have now the command over a couple of territories in central Asia. Still, they didn't have a common border with them.

On the other side, PEACE worked on the same political front successfully TOing the Congress of the Romanian's ally Norway. Romania's got Norway's territories to protect (the main one being ESR, a big tactical advantage for the Romanian's side!).

For Romanians, the only problem was that Xinjiang (the only common border with Indonesia) was indestructible so to speak (the Indos built here a huge wall). So what the Romanians did was to avoid the big Indonesian wall in Xinjiang going to hit Iran in Inner Mongolia.

Let's take a look at the map

PEACE "switching territories" strategy was a great move. But still, there was only one disadvantage: Iran had to be in war with Indonesia(in order to retreat and so on), so they didn't have any MPPs. Pakistan was blocking Indonesia from switching territories so the Iranian's controlled territories were starting to roll over one after the other into Romanian pocket: Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Qinghai, Sichuan.

Everything was working just fine for Romanians! The huge wall in Xinjiang is useless. Now Romanian's got another border with Indonesia in the low populated region of Tibet! And a common border with their Pakistan as well!

The presidential elections brought in Romania a new president dani36, MoFA sebahmah, MoD nea bachus and anorien. The "bigger picture" was back, much bigger than ever! Feeling really good after the big victory in WSR battle, having already Han Solo's Pakistan, they stated the Romanian's main military objective: Karnataka!!! The only high iron region of Indonesia at that time! You can say whatever you want about them, but not that they have focused on a very low objective. It was like they would go for Java or on the other side, the Indonesians would want to go for Bucharest! Huge statement!!

The war was once again on the brink to erupt. And so it did!

The Romanian (ATLANTIS) Campaign in Asia - Part III

(In this article and in the next one you have almost all the numbers so if somehow I'm being perceived as subjective, you can figure out by yourself what was the balance of powers in that very moment.)

We have been the witnesses of huge battles, ambitious objectives, great strategical moves (switching territories or "morisca") in order to avoid an attack or the opponent's big wall.

Romania was in the centre of Asia knocking on the door of the emerging Indonesian empire.

And here it goes:

This was the first big clash (after the WSR battle) between the two superpowers! Still, without tanking (actually the Indo's used more sacrificing and tanking) Tibet went into the Romanian's pocket as well.

Next one was the Battle of Sichuan again:

The Indonesians and PEACE allies were spending GOLD, still, they couldn't stop the Romanian (Atlantis) military machine.

The things looked pretty bad for PEACE so they brought another puppet state (China) on the blocking front. Still wasn't enough.

This was a huge victory!

Now Romania was pouring GOLD really bad in order to achieve their objective. They were 1000 fewer fighters than Indonesians! On the other side, it seems that the things were pretty much the same or even worse (the Romanian economy was more powerful than Indos). Somebody said that in those days an Indonesian congressman could read: "The budget of your country has reached a low level and cannot support anymore the citizen fee of the next 5 new citizens in your country". Could be just a story, but you get the point. The war was a huge effort for both countries.

Anyways, the Romanians were just one step close to Karnataka! If you could see a map of the moment (it is not the showed one) almost all Asia was under the Romanian flag leaving Indonesians one region only, Karnataka. The most important one and the target of the entire campaign.

Still...

Do you see the number of fighters on each side?

Just keep in mind, during that time Romania had every single day 6-7 fights on the first page of the Last Events (not like now hidden in some MPPs triggered fight). They had fights with Iran, Russia, China, Indonesia and RWs on daily basis, so they had much more power wasted on the other fronts. PEACE used their controlled states China and Russia (very low populated in that time) to block Romania from its offensive. Actually, this was their main advantage, as far the Romanians went they were blocked by Iran, China, Russia or Indonesia. China was used to attack ESR, a region that Romania couldn't retreat from. Military speaking Indonesia with all PEACE allies didn't have a good chance (the long list of battles proves that). Still, even they lost battle after battle, the puppet states attacked again and again just for the purpose of blocking Romania. At this stage was obvious that didn't bring any tactical support (more allies in the area), the Romanian (Atlantis) campaign in Asia will stay (at best) for a while in Andhra-Pradesh.

Besides that, another enemy much powerful than PEACE all together was getting closer and closer...

The Romanian (ATLANTIS) Campaign in Asia - Part V

Romanians were blocked in Andhra-Pradesh and they had to defend the region in order to have a shot for Karnataka.

This was a big loss for Romanians. They had many fighters and just a little more push, in the end, would have done the region secure. But wasn't there.

Besides that, something else was going to happen.

Hungary, after 3 weeks of being silent and working with their already teenagers, attacked Romania on May 1st, going on and on for 6 days in a row. Romanians didn't pay to much attention to them(in the official orders at least) and gave up all 6 territories to Hungary, focusing just on Indonesia. Still, they lost some firepower in those battles, 1000 fighters on May 1st, 500 fighters on May 2nd, exactly how much was missing to have the same number of fighters with Indonesia)

At the same time, the most powerful enemy of the Romanians hit them very hard. It was May 1st. Romanians know why. If you look at the battles after that date you will notice that the Romanian coordination just wasn't there, no tanking, no sacrificing, ALL of the battles were lost by a big margin still using all the Romanian power.

The Hungarian attack was very well chosen!

When the Romanians came back the situation was already out of their control. It was like a miracle has happened, they found an Indonesia very much changed. After so many one on one battles between Romania and Indonesia and won by Romania one after the other, even they tried now to ignore Hungary's attacks they finished short on both fronts.

The only time when they managed to win was when they could bring the same number of fighters like their opponents (on the Indonesian front, Battle of Sindh) But other than that having 500-1000 fewer fighters than Indonesia doesn't give you too much mystery about who will win a battle.

They tried everything. They brought the US directly involved into the conflict, the US attack of Far Eastern Russia territory(for the purpose of blocking them) has triggered PEACE MPPs (being the origin of the actual PEACE invasion of US). South Africa was also getting involved in the blocking front. They even signed a treaty with India to get Tamil-Nadu and find another shortcut to Karnataka.

None was working.

The things were so bad for Atlantis that just for one example Iran won the battle of Balochistan fighting alone against Pakistan, Romania, Spain and Sweden (all together 208k only)!!! Truly unbelievable, but it did happen! With huge tanking, but it did.

After the battles of Maharashtra and Sindh, Romanians being really upset by the new miracle of PEACE, requested an arbitration regarding the controversy. The people were hoping that the truth will be brought to the light. Nothing official came up.

On the military front, they still had a lot of territories in Asia, but in the next week, all of them are going to find their peace into the Indonesian's pocket without any fight(you can check the number of fighters on each side). There are many factors but the blocking strategy(in order to get more time for the Romanians to get tired, for the Hungarians to get ready), the May 1st with some miracles and of course PEACE military machine (Indonesia+Hungary) finished the Romanian (Atlantis) campaign in Asia.

The new elections in Romania (where Alex Craciun won the presidency, Han Solo MoD) didn't bring anything new from what was going to be. In From May 6th, realizing the new power of Indonesia, Romania was focusing on defending the territories attacked by Hungary in Ukraine and Russia, leaving the Asian territories to be taken by Indonesia without almost any fight. Having to fight with only one, this time Hungary, the Romanians managed to defend those territories(8 times). Not for a very long time because on May 14th, Indonesia and Hungary hit both almost at the same time again: Podolia and WSR.

You can read about those battles and the day when eRepublik "died" here in the article For the Old Times.

Here came another controversy with 200k official eliminated from the Indonesian damage by the admin(some exploit). After that (on May 15th) the Romanian Army entered in the non-combat mode until the truth about that controversy will be brought to light. They practically gave up without fight ESR, Donbas, Zaporozhia, Taurida, Urals, Basarabia, Chisinau, Southern Basarabia.

They couldn't understand then how the situation was so different before and after May 1st, playing fair.

After so many fights (we had to fight for 2 months every single day) the war is getting in 2clicker mode, but only those very active are doing it. At the end of the day what's coming out is the motivation of your troops having them fighting for so long, deceiving the opponents and bringing new tactics at the right moment.

Hope the article and the numbers bring more light over those days.

For all the fun and the bad days, for all the friends and so called "enemies", regardless of how the situation is or how the things appear to be, if something I have learned from this campaign or it was strongly remembered to me, that will be:

Don't ever quit!

(Hope the Americans are reading this)
