Yang Wenli was born into the New World on August 2, 2009 (Day 621 of the New World), named after his favorite fictional hero, Admiral Yang Wenli, from an epic science fiction called "Legends of the Galactic Heroes" (a.k.a. "Ginga Eiyu Densetsu") by Dr. Yoshiki Tanaka.

According to the fiction, although Yang was nicknamed as "Magician Yang", "Miracle Yang", and was undisputedly the best general of the Free Planets Alliance, he's earliest dream was to become a history professor and live in peace. Ironically, he couldn't afford his tuition because his father died early in an accident so he was left no choice but to attend a government funded military academy and later became a military officer.
