Debate issue

What should be here and what should not? (in History page)
Example: "Nov 29, 2007 - Dio Brando and other early Pakistanis join the game from 4chan's /v/ board and form the Stardust Crusaders party. "
If we are supposed to put things like that then.. uhm..well, yeah this won't work then. --Aryamehr Flag of Iran talk 20:28, 22 July 2008 (BST)

Agree

+1 for removing both of them - Francis H.

This page refers to the History of eRepublik. To be here, an event should have multiple implications on The New World or to be a "milestone".
The first one - "Nov 29, 2007 - Dio Brando and other early Pakistanis join the game from 4chan's /v/ board and form the Stardust Crusaders party." - refers at the History of Pakistan more than at the History of The New World (from the point of view of the whole history, this event is a boom of population, we cannot consider it special)
The second - "Dec 05, 2007 - After rapid expansion, Pakistan becomes the first country to accumulate 5000 GOLD, enough to declare war. Dio Brando is notified by the admins that war is not yet implemented. Most of the Paki population, then making up nearly half the citizens in the world, goes inactive from lack of interest." - references/proofs of this? And what is the relevance to the whole History?
Just my 2 eurocents! (+1 for removal of both of them) --Belea2008 Hail eSouth Africa! chew the fat 20:52, 22 July 2008 (BST)

+1 on removal of both. --Aryamehr Flag of Iran talk 22:37, 22 July 2008 (BST)

Disagree

-1 It's a major event. To this day the Stardust Crusaders have a major impact international politics. From then until the Paki population began declining the rest of the world was in a state of panic over Pakistan's then-enormous population. One could say it was the eWorld's first crisis. I think it's more notable than your intelligence agency or human rights charter.

EDIT: In fact, Flashback joining Sweden should probably be added too, but I don't know the exact dates or details so someone more knowledgeable should add that. --Parsley Magnet 20:56, 22 July 2008 (BST)

From the current formulations of the two events, a reader doesn't understands the importance of the events "in the bigger picture of things". (think that this Wiki is read also by people that didn't played the game) --Belea2008 Hail eSouth Africa! chew the fat 23:10, 22 July 2008 (BST)
How's this then. "Nov 29, 2007 - Dio Brando and other early Pakistanis join the game from 4chan's /v/ board and form the Stardust Crusaders party. Pakistan quickly becomes the most populous country in the world, having nearly half the world's population. Pakistan threatens to conquer the entire eWorld when it gathers sufficient funds." --Parsley Magnet 23:29, 22 July 2008 (BST)
If we are supposed to take it that way then we need to take each country as most of them threatened to conquer the entire world. And we have to take it into account that we threatened to attack Pakistan, (Iran did) etc. --Aryamehr Flag of Iran talk 00:45, 23 July 2008 (BST)
You weren't around then. The game was quite literally nothing but your two clicks a day, save the first elections. Of all countries, Pakistan in early December was the only one that could have feasibly conquered the world, and this was big news back then. And save the time /b/ tried to be in charge and fizzles out with 25 members, when did Iran ever attack Pakistan? Certainly Iran was hostile under your administration, but I don't think you ever threatened to attack Pakistan. --Parsley Magnet 01:14, 23 July 2008 (BST)
Uhm, Iran never attacked Pakistan but also threatened Pakistan in a way or two. For instance in a interview with a Russian newspaper I said that Iran may have to the first strike on Pakistan to keep Iran safe. Is that not a threat? --Aryamehr Flag of Iran talk 11:39, 23 July 2008 (BST)

-1, because the first paragraph is significant after a major rewording. After Pakistan's initial group joined, there were 1200 of us, and the total population of the New World broke 3000 (If I recall correctly; it might have been 2000 or 4000). Of course, I can't provide a source for this, because no log of the population proves to be accurate as all graphs show a steady increase from a very low number.

This also marks the occasion when the first war could have been declared, as we had amassed 5000 Gold over the course of a week (The original requirement). Of course, this never happened, as the war module was incomplete. This caused the first massive shrinkage of a population, as Pakistan went from 1200 to 800 citizens over the course of three weeks soon afterwards. --AgentChieftain Flag of the Crescent and Star T / H / [1] 16:43, 24 July 2008 (BST)

Decision

These will stay:
"Nov 29, 2007 - Dio Brando and other early Pakistanis join the game from 4chan's /v/ board and form the Stardust Crusaders party. Pakistan quickly becomes the most populous country in the world, having nearly half the world's population. Pakistan threatens to conquer The New World when it gathers sufficient funds."
"Dec 05, 2007 - After rapid expansion, Pakistan becomes the first country to accumulate 5000 GOLD, enough to declare war. Dio Brando is notified by Admin that war is not yet implemented. Most of the Paki population, then making up nearly half the citizens in the world, goes inactive from lack of interest."

These are actual facts, based on the game tools and context at that time.
