API Parties?

I was wondering if the API held information about political parties. If it did, it could mean a automatically updating party list with Name, PP, Members and Congress Seat which would be extremely helpful since a lot of the wiki needs API updated tools. -- Icon-Australia.png Mikhail Alexander | Talk 23:52, 30 October 2011 (PDT)

Of course it could be helpful, but admins don't give a damn either about a Wiki or API :3 --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 04:32, 31 October 2011 (PDT)
Useful - Yes; Possible - Yes; What is needed for this? - An idiot. We're already using every (efficient) possibility this API offers. New ideas concerning current API --> straight to trash. --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 08:05, 31 October 2011 (PDT)
If Admins don't care about the API or Wiki, I don't see why we should work. We could do one of those strike things until they give us what we want :D -- Icon-Australia.png Mikhail Alexander | Talk 16:23, 31 October 2011 (PDT)
Well, they fought the rebellions with missions. Any ideas what they will fight Wiki editors with? Free gold :P? --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 08:43, 1 November 2011 (PDT)
I bet they don't really care if the wiki gets fucked up. Only one that might care is Belea and that's it. I don't think we achieve much with a strike (like we're doing anything now either :D) --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 09:24, 1 November 2011 (PDT)
They can always throw out the idea of a community-run Wiki and replace it with an admins-run Wiki :3 --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 09:38, 1 November 2011 (PDT)
We'd be the admins of course, meaning no vandalism :P -- Icon-Australia.png Mikhail Alexander | Talk 05:19, 2 November 2011 (PDT)

Anyone which to help me clean up all the read links? Special:WantedPages -- Icon-Australia.png Mikhail Alexander | Talk 05:20, 2 November 2011 (PDT)

There are 100408 wanted pages (2nd Nov).
57000 pages have 2 or more links pointing to it, while over 40000 pages have One single link pointing to a wanted page.--Sre8renica 06:58, 2 November 2011 (PDT)
LangMenu causes "red links" to every language there is in the wiki. Happy editing :D --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 07:30, 2 November 2011 (PDT)
This whole idea of LangMenu "more" is killing Wanted Pages :3 --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 09:37, 3 November 2011 (PDT)
Can't we just drop the "more" concept from the LangMenu (as in, see/display only the pages that exist)? --Belea2008 03:58, 11 November 2011 (PST)
It will still check the existence of article in every language which pops up in the wanted pages list. --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 05:21, 11 November 2011 (PST)
#ifexists triggers wanted pages? Well, I didn't know this one :3 --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 05:33, 11 November 2011 (PST)
I remember reading that somewhere but it seems that I was wrong: the pages appear in What links here list, not in wanted pages :). But back to the idea: it would only make people create the translations to crazy locations and I don't want to sort them out. --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 05:40, 11 November 2011 (PST)

clean url's

I know there is a way to change the URL's of a wiki, so a page that is called '' will simply become '', why don't we have this? --Icon-Canada.png Icon-Netherlands.png Daniel Parker 12:02, 5 November 2011 (PDT)

Contact - Game support - Complaints there. We don't have admins here to do that kind of things. They will take the idea under consideration but will never implement it (like said, admins don't care about wiki or API). --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 00:41, 6 November 2011 (PDT)
Admins don't give a shit about Wiki :3 --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 02:43, 6 November 2011 (PST)
we all know that complaining to the admins i like sysphus-labour. I sent a ticket anyway, and I'll keep nagging until I at least get a decent answer, I'll keep you posted here. --Icon-Canada.png Icon-Netherlands.png Daniel Parker 08:50, 6 November 2011 (PST)
Don't bother. Answer will be Thank you for your feedback! Your opinion is helping us improve the New World. --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 11:30, 6 November 2011 (PST)
I didn't give them feedback, but asked a open question. My helpdesk-skills come in handy with the admins ;) --Icon-Canada.png Icon-Netherlands.png Daniel Parker 15:35, 6 November 2011 (PST)
I reported a bug and that what I got as answer ^^ (about that if a wiki page has & sign in its name, the game marks it as malicious link everywhere IG). --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 21:13, 6 November 2011 (PST)
Sampo, they are too lazy to do anything so they make a c&p answer, even if it doesn't make any sense (they get rewards for mass-closing tickets) :3 --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 06:49, 7 November 2011 (PST
I lolled at their reply "We do not see any need to change the URL you speak about and because we do not have any resources to invest in order to change it. :( Sorry for your inconvenience." --Icon-Canada.png Icon-Netherlands.png Daniel Parker 08:53, 7 November 2011 (PST)
We don't see any need to keep the wiki you mentioned up and running because we you do not care about it --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 10:13, 7 November 2011 (PST)
I replied to admins PM "Sorry, but I find that hard to believe. It takes maybe 10 minutes to implement this. Maybe an hour tops if you count the in-game wikibooks. Here is how to do it:" --Icon-Canada.png Icon-Netherlands.png Daniel Parker 10:23, 7 November 2011 (PST)
we do not have any resources - this answers all future questions about "do something with the wiki" --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 07:54, 10 November 2011 (PST)

I am curious. If admins do not give a shit about the wiki - why do some of you people give a shit then? Are you being paid? --Aryamehr Flag of Iran talk 10:38, 7 November 2011 (PST)

Because we have, over a long period of time, put alot of effort into this wiki in the hope that it would be useful and informative. :[ John F. Baker Icon-UK.png (Talk | Contribs) 11:45, 7 November 2011 (PST)
well to conclude this depressing topic, latest communication was that they might do it if they have the resources (which I guess they will never have) --Icon-Canada.png Icon-Netherlands.png Daniel Parker 14:03, 26 November 2011 (PST)

I'll be watching (o_o) (notified the editor too) --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 14:38, 12 November 2011 (PST)
I just added both so there is no reason for edit, if it happens again. I'll notify both and if it happens again, probably a temp ban for both. They need to learn to sort it out. -- Icon-Australia.png Mikhail Alexander | Talk 15:08, 12 November 2011 (PST)
Both channels listed is fine by me, I just put remark about official channel (as Egypt CP told me). --Icon-Croatia.png Dalibor / Talk 12:52, 13 November 2011 (PST)

Removing company pages

I've noticed that the only reason we're keeping the pages is due to the wiki link from the page to the wiki but it's not actually a link, it's just an image. Can we actually remove them? People have a lot of companies now days, I doubt people would list every single one and I think this would reduce work for us in having to deal with them. But all we'd have to do is delete every single company page. This is creating work for us and it's just useless. -- Icon-Australia.png Icon-Kosovo.png Mikhail Alexander | Talk 03:19, 14 November 2011 (PST)

Whatever. --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 06:58, 14 November 2011 (PST)
+1 I suggest to delete them, 99% of company pages are either outdated/useless/spam --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 06:23, 16 November 2011 (PST)
+1Indeed company pages hardly have any usefull info on them --Icon-Canada.png Icon-Netherlands.png Daniel Parker 13:59, 26 November 2011 (PST)

In case you haven't noticed yet but the whole API seems to be broken (or my scripts, don't really care which one) and due to that the data for regions, mpps, embargoes and bonuses are not updated. Just thought to let you know... --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 08:51, 16 November 2011 (PST)

I messaged admins to add Albania to the API but if it's broken, great. Now we have to do everything manually >:( -- Icon-Australia.png Icon-Kosovo.png Mikhail Alexander | Talk 13:14, 16 November 2011 (PST)
Albania is in the map data but the whole data is not updating. It's just the same old data there were few days ago (or my scripts are broken due to the changes, don't really have time to investigate)... --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 21:59, 16 November 2011 (PST)
It seems that the API has updated so that the day must be correct in the URL (they have managed to add map history to the data \o/). Due to timezone differences the date my script generates is too big. For example now my script thinks it's 17th (8 AM here) but in eRep it's still 16th. So updates between 14:00 and 00:00 EREP not happening anymore... --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 22:10, 16 November 2011 (PST)
lolwhat, admins fixed API? --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 07:29, 17 November 2011 (PST)
It seems to even though it can be hard to believe :D --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 10:33, 17 November 2011 (PST)

Admins have fixed the wrongly generated timestamp problem. --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 22:25, 17 November 2011 (PST)

still the MPP lists aren't update --Icon-Canada.png Icon-Netherlands.png Daniel Parker 14:02, 26 November 2011 (PST)

Dark Wolf of Balkan to Belea2008 | 12 hours ago - "Can I please get unbaned from the eWiki" - thoughts? --Belea2008 01:12, 21 November 2011 (PST)

Vandalizing Country Page, inserting lot of nonsense, replacing countries Hymn with a very different tune (meant to be offensive)... and as far as I am concerned we can do without "help" of editors like that.--Sre8renica 02:08, 22 November 2011 (PST)

And a question

What did Bora Can ASLI do exactly? He's investing a lot of time and energy in order to send me a lot of "love" messages... from what I understood, his Wiki account was blocked?!? Just asking... --Belea2008 01:41, 22 November 2011 (PST)

it is not difficult to find out what editor does on Wiki. There is a Search function (poor and temperamental at times) on Wiki. It generally works reasonably well... But to answer you question: I do not think any further explanation is necessary. --Sre8renica 02:16, 22 November 2011 (PST)
A lot of vandalisms (most likely after Georgian as a language got somehow rejected, I don't remember the exact cause), and a lot of vandalisms (last edits he got banned for) --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 05:34, 22 November 2011 (PST)

Template:RegionsTable Update

I've updated Template:RegionsTable to automatically update according to the eRepublik API feed that sampo555 ports over to the wiki.

There are a few very small changes you Wiki editors will have to make to the country pages using it. ;) Most of the details are outlined here Template talk:RegionsTable.

If there's any problems or suggestions for the template, please contact me.--vSkyzv Icon-USA.png Talk - Contribs 21:42, 27 November 2011 (PST)
