First term as President of Romania
World War I started after Romania declared war on Hungary. Romania's declaration came two days after the formation of the PEACE and was declared before many PEACE protection pacts with Hungary became active.
The World War I was started because of an election promise made by Alex Craciun on April 30, 2008:
| “ Cu totii jucam acest joc din dorinta de distractie, ne distram castigand, castigam recuperandu-ne teritoriile care acum fac parte din Bulgaria, Cadrilaterul si Ucraina, partial Bucovina. La pachet cu Bulgaria vom avea si Ungaria, multi dintre voi asteapta asta. Vom recupera aceste teritorii prin orice mijloace care ne stau la indemana! ” | |
Translation:
| “ "We all play this game because of our desire for fun, we have fun by winning, we win by recovering our territories that are now part of Bulgary, and Ukraine, parts of Bucovina. With this package we will have also Hungary, many of you are expecting this. We will recover these territories through any means necessary! ” |
Conclusion and aftermath
Left in only one region, Hungary had to struggle at the beginning of V1. Few month later, on February 9, 2009 the famous index.hu babyboom started that eventually led to the rise of the Hungarian empire.
