Alquimedes is a citizen of Venezuela.
He has served in the congress representing both Guayana and Venezuelan Capital regions.
He has also served as president.
He is an active member of the Frente Moderno Scoialdemocrat party.

Alquimedes was elected as President of Venezuela in December 2008. He recieved 45 votes, narrowly beating his rival, leireleire, who had 44 votes. Later in his term, he suffered an impeachment and leireleire replaced him.
