The National Bank of Romania (Romanian: Banca Naţională a României, BNR) is the central bank of Romania and was established in Dec 31, 2007 by Cristi Badea and iepurilah. It is located in the capital city, Bucharest. The bank's governor is Damayanty. The National Bank of Romania is responsible for the issue of the Romanian leu and as such it sets the monetary policy, holds the currency reserves and manages the exchange rate.

The Governor of The National Bank of Romania is appointed by the President.

Responsibilities

The main tasks of the National Bank of Romania are the following:

• to define and implement the monetary policy and the exchange rate policy;
• to manage the official reserves of Romania.

Currency

The official currency in Romania is the RON, Romanian New Leu (Romanian: Leu românesc). Exactly as in the rest of eRepublik countries, Gold can also be used in Romania.

Currency rates

Since December 31, 2007, Banca Nationala a Romaniei (National Bank of Romania) has been regulating the monetary market of Romania to ensure the stability of the exchange rates. Because the high number of monetary speculators and the monetary attacks during wars, the role of the National Bank of Romania is a very important one. Each month, the minister of economy, who leads the National Bank, is chosen by the president. As of August 15, 2013 the exchange rates are:
