Councillor is a cabinet position within a political party. The position is filled via appointment by the Party president.
The Councillor is the main adviser of the Party concerning politics. As such, he has the following functions:
- Provide political support, education, monitoring and advisory services to the Party President, the party representatives in popular election bodies (like Congress), public offices (like Minister) and party members in general, respecting national politics.
- Advise the party president on the ordering of the parliamentary list and the choice of the presidential candidate, either from the own party or from another party.
Because of his functions, it's recommended the councillor to choose must be a party member with broad experience and knowledge in both party and country politics.
