e-Eurovision Song Contest is an idea which origins from Icon-Ireland.png Ireland and is about countries sharing their music.

The concept is the same as the real Eurovision, but virtually. That is, a song contest. One real song that represents an e-country in a battle among other countries and their citizens are voting for the best song of all. Not to be confused with karaoke.

Representatives from each participating country gathered and decided the rules for the 1st contest and also that the contest will take place each 6 months. In fact, the contest takes place whenever a country takes the initiative.

1st Contest - Ireland

The 1st contest was hosted by Icon-Ireland.png Ireland and the venue was eIreland's Radio channel on plug.dj on Thursday 11 June 2015 at 8:00 eRepublik time and 14 countries presented there their songs.

Executive Supervisor was Raven Anarcho, as Minister of Community at that time.

The competing countries were:

The voting system was the 6-point (6, 4, 3, 2 and 1).

Each country hold its own national poll to make the final votes.

3rd Contest - Alexandroupoli, Greece

Logo of the 3rd eEurovision Song Contest.

The third contest was organized by Icon-Greece.png Greece by governmental initiative once again at late-May 2017. The venue was e-Eurovision 2017's channel on dubtrack.fm on Tuesday 13 June 2017 at 11:00 eRepublik time and 15 countries presented there their songs.

Executive Supervisor was Jimkats1 as Minister of Press at that time.

Three changes featured this edition:

  • A cash prize for the winner was introduced. In particular, CC and gold were gathered from donations which were later donated to the winning country's treasury.
  • A Rest of the World (RotW) jury was added among the rest of the countries-voters. It means that any citizen from a non-participating country was able to vote as well, under the same "team" of voters.
  • A reserve point was introduced in the voting system. That way, if one country didn't vote, the points it received would be "distributed" to the rest:
    • Each country voted for their top 11 (top 10 + 11th place). In case a country didn't vote and that country was in the top 10 of a country's voting, at the final votes counting, the non-voting country is excluded and every other country below it goes up one place (so the 11th placed country is now 10th and receives 1 point).

The competing countries were:

Icon-Armenia.png Armenia, Icon-Austria.png Austria, Icon-Belarus.png Belarus, Icon-Belgium.png Belgium, Icon-Brazil.png Brazil, Icon-Greece.png Greece, Icon-France.png France, Icon-Israel.png Israel, Icon-Italy.png Italy, Icon-Netherlands.png Netherlands, Icon-Norway.png Norway, Icon-Portugal.png Portugal, Icon-Spain.png Spain, Icon-Sweden.png Sweden and Icon-Ukraine.png Ukraine.

Countries that returned from the 1st contest:

Countries that participated in the 2nd contest, but withdrew from the 3rd:

Icon-Albania.png Albania, Icon-Bosnia and Herzegovina.png Bosnia and Herzegovina, Icon-Bulgaria.png Bulgaria, Icon-Cyprus.png Cyprus, Icon-Czech Republic.png Czech Republic, Icon-Estonia.png Estonia, Icon-Republic of Macedonia (FYROM).png Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Foxland heart.png Foxland, Icon-Hungary.png Hungary, Icon-Ireland.png Ireland, Icon-Republic of Moldova.png Republic of Moldova, Icon-Russia.png Russia, Icon-Serbia.png Serbia, Icon-Slovenia.png Slovenia, Icon-Switzerland.png Switzerland and Icon-United Kingdom.png United Kingdom.

Before the live event, the participating countries were 17. Both Icon-Bosnia and Herzegovina.png Bosnia and Herzegovina and Icon-Montenegro.png Montenegro submitted songs, but due to Bosnia's objection regarding Montenegro's entry, it resulted in Bosnia's withdrawal and Montenegro's disqualification two days before the live event.

The voting system was the 12-point (12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1).

Icon-France.png France got disqualified for not voting, losing all of the points it received.

At the beginning of the live show, a trailer of that edition was shown. You can watch it here.

Notable is Icon-Austria.png Austria's entry, of which the video used had duration of 15 minutes. Due to that extensive duration of the song, after it caused reactions during the live show, it was decided that from the next contest there would be a duration limit to the songs.

4th Contest - Sweden 2018

The next edition of the competition was set by zzzingo (CP of Sweden during the previous contest) to take place in Sweden in early 2018, but no action was done. The contest was paused once again, this time maybe permanently if no one else is gonna revive it in the future.

Award

Designed by tommot.

The award of the winning country is the ability to host the next contest and also fame.
Since the 3rd contest, there has also been prize money that is deposited to the winning country's treasury.

The prize money for the 3rd contest was in total 45000 CC and 70 gold, gathered from various donators.

Rules

Those rules are either for organizing a contest as the host or as a participant country either for song itself.

From the 1st contest, there have been decided few and basic rules, as it was the first time something like this was organized. Each country may have its own rules when it selects its entry, but in the end it must within the limits. Citizens of a country, are referred as the the players who have the CS of that country.

Representative

Representative is the member of the government or a citizen appointed by the government, responsible for organizing the participation of his/hers country at the contest. He/She is the one responsible for the communication with the hosting committee of the contest, the song selection and the voting of his/hers country.

The representative may have other players helping him. If there's any problem, he/she can appoint another player for specific jobs with the hosting committee.

Song selection

A country has the option of:

- holding a national final, where citizens from that country propose their songs and later they vote to select the winning song.
- a direct assignment of the entry, where the government or the appointed representative selects the entry him/herself.

Songs

The artist(s) of the song must be from the country they represent.
There's no limitation at the duration of the song.
There's no limitation at the language of the song.
There's no limitation at the release year of the song.
Instrumental songs are allowed.
Real Eurovision songs are allowed.

Note: Questionable at this moment are the origin & excessive career of an artist in the representing country, duration of the song and karaoke covers of songs.

Voting

The countries should hold national polls where they vote for other countries. How they will hold it it's up to them, but all countries must make the poll during the voting deadline, else if no poll is made thus no votes from that country, then it will be disqualified.

In case of ties, no matter if it's the final scoreboard or each country's internal voting, the real Eurovision's tie-breaking rule is followed:

  • First, it's most voters.
  • If still tie, then most 12's, 10's etc..
  • If still tie, then the country that performed first during the contest, unless it's the host country.
