eMalaysian Democratic Union was the second largest political party in Malaysia, after Parti Rakyat eMalaysia.
History
Overview
Party was formerly known as Mana eMalaysia (for an extremely short period), which in English means, "Where's eMalaysia". The name was inspired by the situation at that time where Malaysia was under the control of pto-ers. Prior to that, the party was known as Parti Kemajuan eMalaysia. The party at that time was a Center-Right Authoritarian party.
On 15th August 2012, Lego Man decided to rename Mana eMalaysia to eMalaysian Democratic Union to give the party a new image and a new beginning, just after the pto period. The party was initially founded as a Center-Right Libertarian party but the party eventually moved towards the Center as it was working very closely with the Center-Left Parti Rakyat eMalaysia, while both Sarikat Kebangsaan eMalaysia & Free Malaysian Party were rising as Center-Right competitors. The party gained momentum under the leadership of Muhammad Hifzan.
HeLLrAiSeR from eMalaysian Democratic Union won the Country President's election in September 2012. In October 2012's Country President election, eMalaysian Democratic Union supported Firebourne from Parti Rakyat eMalaysia. Nerzhu1 was the first country president to be elected under eMalaysian Democratic Union back to back and was supported by Parti Rakyat eMalaysia for two terms.
