El Gatos was a citizen of Greece, born on the day 642.
At that time Greece had just been liberated completely from Turkey. Back then things were pretty tough for a person to be left oriented. The attacks, especially from nationalists were repetitive, and there was no left political party in Greece. However, some days later the “Workers Party” was created by some foreign citizens and many lefties saw it as their political home.
At the same time a group of communists and other radical left people was created which was later called EAM. This group decided to be a part of Workers Party which was afterwards renamed to Enosi Dimokratikis Aristeras (EDA). El Gatos was one of the few who was involved in both EAM and EDA.
