ErnestHemingway (7 July 2013) was a Belgian, novelist, politician and outright personality. He lived in Wallonia, Belgium, where woodlands and hills are still everyday landscape and game such as boar and deer can still be hunted. When not in Belgium, he roamed the world, collecting trophies, war stories and big game to pursue. He was a tough man with a fond weakness for beautiful women, a stiff drink and a tall tale.
He's a man of a different era, when women swooned and men groomed. With a whiskey for breakfast and a cigar for lunch, he has little time for shenanigans and cry-babies. He'll hold the door open for you, but only to get a better view at your behind. He's both a simple and a complicated man, who sports his beard and chest hair with pride.
He makes a point of good manners, although in a charmingly naughty way. Always ready with a wink, he can be quite sociable. At other times, he can be found brooding and full of gloom. At times like these, the only remedy is a fit of drinking that usually ends in a miserable hangover of epic proportions and the question of how you managed to get into bed in the first place.
There is no one woman in his life, although many have passed already. The only 'woman' whom he seems to adore on an everyday basis is 'Genevieve', a longrifle he fondly nicknames after, perhaps, a long lost love. He's a master shot, but lacks the discipline for a real army career. Some days, he's all present and quite destructive in battle, other days, he simply can't be arsed.
He has an opinion on almost any matter and can strangely often be found in the role of mediator and voice of reason. With a rather dark sense of humour and quick wit, he can defuse almost any row or argument. Should words however not suffice, he also has a quick right that seems to speak quite clear at times.
ErnestHemingway is good fun and quite addictive to be around, although you shouldn't if you know what's best for you.
Politics
ErnestHemingway started his political career as a member and spokesman of Belgian Labour Party. A difference in idea on totamitarism and democracy however made this a very difficult relationship. When the party president of Union-Unie asked him to join their party for the race in the upcoming Congress elections, Ernest did not hesitate a single moment.
Ernest felt quite at home at Union-Unie and was made spokesman here too. Putting in his usual dedication, he made it onto the fifth place of the list for possible Congress members and got elected the very same month for his first Congress mandate.
ErnestHemingway is a man of the world, well-traveled and with quite some knowledge of diplomacy and languages. Because of this, he was asked to open the Belgian Embassy in Finland, the first Belgian Embassy in an Asgard-country. Up to today, he is still the ambassador in Helsinki.
Media
As an author and novelist, ErnestHemingway was always a staunch defender of decently written articles and research journalism. In his own newspaper 'The Old Man and The Newspaper', he writes on politics, the state of the state and social issues, but also about literature and poetry.
In his quest to promote good journalism, he created the Belgian Reader's Choice Award, an honour awarded by the Belgian readers to show their appreciation for the newspapers they read and like.
