Introduction

The Filipino Progressive Movement (FPM) was one of the largest parties, and second oldest political party, in the Icon-Philippines.png Philippines.

Originally set up by Big Boy Bulley and other members who had left the Icon-UK.png UK to settle in the Philippines, it started out being viewed with some suspicion. However the FPM proved itself with donations of gold, organisation ability, military strength and business acumen. Its members were all originally UK ex-pats, but later it become a mixture of citizens hailing from several different nations.

The FPM welcomed anyone into their party, with the exception of persona non grata to the Philippines (consisting mainly of previous PTO personnel).

The party was renamed to the Prodajem reklame party after the Icon-Indonesia.png Indonesian occupation of the Philippines!

Policies

Politics

The FPM was center-left and left politically. It believed in a socialist approach to the government, but still supported and encouraged free enterprises in the marketplace. Its dedication to the people of the Philippines could be measured by the hospitals in every region of the Philippines.

Economics

It established government controlled industries in all sectors except mining industries which had no raw materials in the Philippines (namely diamonds and wood). The policy of the government controlled industries was to provide both fair wages and fair prices for all citizens of the Philippines, irrespective of political, religious or military allegiance.

Financial

The FPM strongly favored the control of the PHP (the native Filipino currency) Gold Exchange rate by buying all sales of gold under the recommend amount, and selling gold at the recommended amount. Recommended amount at the time was 50 PHP to Icon - Gold.gif 1 GOLD and 1 PHP to Icon - Gold.gif 0.02 GOLD. The FPM was responsible for creating the Bank of Philippines (BoP) as a secure place to store GOLD and PHP out of the country accounts to prevent its acquisition by hostile parties attempting political takeovers (PTOs) of the Philippines. The Filipino Congress regularly voted on transferring amounts of GOLD and PHP from the Filipino country accounts to the BoP. The Ministry of Finance was created to carry out the day to day duties of controlling the monetary market.

Military

The FPM was instrumental in creating the Filipino Army. Created primarily as a defensive force, the FPM had no hesitation in supporting its allies against invasion all around the world. In July 2009 the Philippines were accepted into PEACE GC as an ally, securing invaluable support from arguably the most potent military force in the world. The FPM did not support invasion of any other sovereign nation, except for the purposes of training wars.

History

The FPM was founded in March 2009 by Keitarour as part of the plan by The Rest of the Others, a secret society led by former United Kingdom Deputy Prime Minister Big Boy Bulley (BBB), to create the first "truly successful" Communist state in eRepublik. The FPM would later abandon this goal.

"The Early FPM"

By March 26, 2009, the FPM had seized the majority of seats in the Philippine Congress. Ten days later, Big Boy Bulley won the country presidency, and would remain in power for the next three months.

During this period, the FPM, under the BBB administration, made donations in excess of Icon - Gold.gif 800 GOLD to the national treasury, and used the funds to found the country's first ever organized military, as well as several state-run companies, and a central banking system. They also instituted the first tax policy in the country, which included, among others, the 10% income tax across the board for all available industries.

Secta del Guru Varnish Debacle

On April 26, 2009 a renegade Spanish-led PTO faction called the Secta del Guru Varnish seized control of the Philippine Congress and would then wreak havoc on the country economy. Prior to the Secta, the FPM was widely regarded as a PTO group, and thus underwent a brief period of public persecution.

However, with the arrival of the Secta, the Philippines for the Filipinos (PFF), then the biggest party in the country and FPM's major rival, was forced to align with the FPM to jointly combat the Secta in the polls. This political coalition solidified the perception of the FPM as a legitimated eFilipino party.

It is little known about party presidents, however some information is known:
