Flashback Sweden is a political party in Sweden. Flashback has been the biggest party in Sweden since January 2008 and had a majority in the congress until the elections in March 2009. Flashback Sweden now is the second biggest party in Sweden.

FBS Party Mission

Politics

We do not want to apply only one ideology in Sweden. We don’t want to profile us as a red, blue, social or capitalistic party; our ambition is to pick the best from different political ideas and use it for Sweden’s best. We don’t let ourselves be limited by opinions that can’t be changed, as well as preconceived ideas. We are not stuck in a “real-life thinking”, but we are willing to try new methods to reach success. New politics for the new world!

Economy

FBS stands for a mixed economy. We believe that the game is designed for, and works best with, a mixed economy. The eRepublik is the most exciting and eventful with a free market, many participants and freedom of choice. FBS does not want to limit the freedom of the individual – the Swedish people should have the possibility to create their own companies. The market economy in eRepublik does however have a few economic “holes”. FBS fills these holes by well adjusted government intervention. These are not meant to benefit the state, but have the sole purpose of creating welfare for the Swedes. The market blossoms, the currency is strong and the eRepublik world’s strongest economy has been created under FBS’ lead.

Riksbanken (eng: Bank of Sweden) - Two values/means of payment exists in eRepublik: gold and the local currency (in Sweden: SEK). On the monetary market these are traded – SEK for gold, and vice versa. There are strong connections between a country’s gold value and its national economy. Import/export, number of companies and value of the currency are all affected by the gold value. In February, FBS introduced the Bank of Sweden. The bank is of utmost importance for our national economy and has the task of keeping a healthy gold value in Sweden.

Taxes - To avoid large economic sways and create stability in the business cycle, FBS balances the national economy by taxes. We want to avoid a high inflation (increase of the amount of money, decrease of currency calue, large price increase) and deep deflation (opposite of inflation). The biggest instruments are the income taxes and VAT (taxes on products). These are used to balance the state’s expenses and income. We raise/lower taxes to promote the Swede’s purchasing power and wallet.

Hospitals and storage companies - Hospitals are needed in all regions to heal soldiers after battle. In the future they will also give the hospitals will be used in more ways according to the creators of eRepublik. This line of business is the only one, of six in the game, where the products are meant for the regions and government. FBS supplies all Swedish regions with hospitals. In March when all companies providing hospitals started to vanish, FBS started Svenska Sjukhus Q1 and Q4. FBS also uses storage companies to provide the people with products if any crises should come up.

Society

FBS works to get an active, involved population – smooth communication between Swedes is a prerequisite for this. The creation of social bonds and to interactively absorb ourselves in eRepublik is very important

Migrationsverket (The Department of Immigration) - was started by FBS, and has the mission to increase the population of Sweden. The players get tipped off by Migrationsbladet (the official newspaper) about forums where new Swedes can be invited. The citizens earn gold and the population rises. Migrationsverket has helped getting hundreds of new players to our country.

Mentor Sverige (Mentor Sweden) – this organization contacts new players and does not only send a welcome message (with hints and tips for new players), but also acts like a personal advisor to the new players. With tips and answers to questions, new players are helped to feel at home and to find this game entertaining..

Erepublik.se - we realize the weight of having a forum outside of Erepublik.com, where discussions can be held. Half a year ago we started a campaign for all Swedish citizens. As a new registered member on http://www.Erepublik.se you get 10 SEK from the government. Our Swedish forum today has over 1600 members, and discussions about everything connected to eRepublik are held here.

Military

FBS stands for a strong and active defense that finds role-playing and creative solutions most pleasing. The backbone of this defense has for a long time been members of Flashback, often combining humor with winning tactics. FBS has no intention to wage war for the war itself. It gives little compared to the cost. The strength of a country is not measured in regions. Flashback wants Swedish soldiers to be given generous possibilities to fight in foreign conflicts, preferably in cooperation with other units from allied nations. By doing this, the Swedish soldiers receive the possibility to gain military rang and experience.

Storage companies - To make sure that all Swedish soldiers will have the necessary tools to fight in a prolonged war, we support a continued commitment to the state owned weapons-company, with the mission to store weapons. The company can, and will, sell its products on the market to low prices, but only of benefit to Swedish soldiers on times that they know of. This system has been tried with great success. This is not a way to cool down an overheated market, but to be used in times of crisis.

The Swedish Field Hospital - To support the Swedish soldiers with gifts we have established The Swedish Field Hospital, which has also been tried with success. It is activated in times of war to raise the soldiers health.

The Swedish Paratroopers - somewhat of a military group of elites, has been formed to serve as the critical core of fighters, which strikes with tremendous strength at the very last minute of fighting. This aspect of wars can never be underestimated. Media

Media

Flashback considers free journalism to be the most valuable tool to spread information and valuations. Everyone should have the right to write what they think about the world they live in, as long as it is stays within the rules of the game. The world of newspapers is the only place where a completely public debate can be held, due to the fact that many users are not registered at Erepublik.se.

Newsflash - The party runs the party-paper Newsflash. Its purpose is to spread information about what we actually do within the congress, what we think about current issues and what specific people in the party does. The editors are Algaroth, Ziggyzag, Marten1000 and Danny, but everyone can send in work if they believe are fit to represent the entire party. We are aiming for one article a week, but it might just as well become more.

Critics

FBS has always been criticized for its lack of politics, like the fact that they for a long time did not have a complete party mission. They have also been criticized for being named after a known online forum and for having remained in the leading position since January.

The FBS leaders respond by saying that even though they're named after an internet forum, they want the best for Sweden and that they for the past months they have worked for Sweden. Their main argument is that they have built and protected Sweden for a long time.
