God Emperor is the short form of the official title of Dio Brando. It has been His official title since November 30, 2008[1], as declared in the Stardust Crusaders Charter.
Title
The full formal title is His Divine Majesty and Grace, Emperor Dio Brando the Infinite.
He is considered a living deity in Dioism, the national religion of his empire, Pakistan, thus the first part of the title. The second part is from His political position as the emperor of Pakistan, which is considered above the position of the president. "The Infinite" signifies His position as the first and only emperor of Pakistan, whereas a successor would traditionally share his name and title with a sequential suffix.
It is officially shortened to God Emperor for the convenience of discussion. It is not considered insulting to shorten His title or even leave it out of conversation, because Dio Himself is humble and believes His name is powerful enough to convey His magnitude.
History
Dio Brando has been the sole holder of the title since November 30, 2008.[1] Although Pakistan has had numerous others fill His role in the presidential seat, they do not acquire the title, as the position of God Emperor is grander than that of the president.
The original short form of the title was God Emperor of Mankind, but this was further shortened in January 2008 for further convenience. It is still occasionally used by older Pakistani who wish to enlighten the new generation.
