First Australian Senate: Haugenmatt ran in Australia's first ever senate, running in the state of New South Wales in December 2008. He ran as a member of his party, the Aus Democratic Socialist Party, and due to a good Senate Platform, was successful in recieving 11 votes. He was also the highest voted Senator in Australia for this month.
Second Australian Senate: Haugenmatt ran also in Australia's second senate, which occurred in January 2009. This time he decided to run in the state of Victoria. He was successful again this month as well, despite recieving only 2 votes this time.
Third Australian Senate: Haugenmatt was a member of Australia's third Senate, that which took place in February 2009. He again ran in the state of Victoria. This month he recieved 6 votes, and he did not publish an official election platform.
Sixth Australian Senate: Haugenmatt was also a member of Australia's sixth Senate, which was voted into office in May 2009. This time, he ran in the state of Queensland. He recieved 2 votes this time, which was again enough votes to become elected into office. Again, he did not publish an official platform.
Cabinet
Haugenmatt was also involved in the Australian Cabinet. He began his term on January 27, 2009, when he was appointed as Deputy Minister of Social Services. This was to be a position that he held until the end of the February Cabinet term, which officially ended on March 05, 2009. At this point, he was appointed as the Australian Minister of Finance.
Media
Haugenmatt owned a newspaper called Refined Thought. This newspaper was a highly influential one when he was still alive, and its articles almost always in the top 5 Media articles of Australia for the day.
