Info from March 2008
Brazil currently has 4 main political parties.
- Comando Brasileiro (CBR) is the largest, with a left and nationalist orientation, currently they are ruling in the country government and in the two biggest regions.
- Partido Jovem Brasileiro (PJB) is the the second largest party. They were the biggest party, but in the last days before the Fourth general elections, internal problems lead to a large decrease in its member count.
- Partido Socialista (PS) has a nationalistic orientation, although its "socialist" name, it is a right wing party.
- La Caipirinha (LACA) was the first Brazilian party, and decreased with time, along with the foreign habitants leaving the country.
Also, there are other two, non representative, parties: Partido Democrata (PD, 3 members) and Acta, Non Verba (ANV, 1 member).
