Love and Peace (2011- ) is a centrist political party currently active in New Zealand. It has been a major success since forming. Presently it holds 11 seats in the NZ Parliament and the current Prime Minister, Mister Terminator, is from the party.

History-Founding Era

Love and Peace (L&P) can trace its roots to the former dominate Red label Party (RLP). The vast majority of its membership was drawn from the RLP, especially considering that L&P was successor party to the RLP. It was seen as a new force on the NZ political landscape.

The party's first major test was the September 25 parliamentary election. The party nominated a wide slate of candidates, with many RLP MP's running under L&P. In the first election, the party captured 40 votes (third overall) and 10 of 40 seats, coming third. This was a respectable result for the new party. The party further increased its profile in the October Presidential elections when it supported Ujedinjenje ili smrt (UIS) candidate DaRkO 206. He emerged victorious, winning 51% of the vote.

In his subsequent Cabinet, the party placed three members, included Splindza, marko_zad, and 2Los Sinus. This indicated the party's strong standing in the eNZ political sphere. A notable member, Helen Moon, also played a lead role in the new government.

In the October parliamentary elections, L&P once again emerged with 10 seats but increased its popular vote to over 53, coming in second to the UIS. This indicated the strong support the party held, compared to its relatively minor membership base of 39-40.

Helen Moon Administration

In November, the L&P nominated founder and PP Helen Moon for the NZ Presidency. She quickly secured the endorsement of the UIS and Speight's Supporters Party. She proceded to win the election in a landslide, taking 67% of the vote to 32% for Oboacer of the Peace 'n' Prosperity Party (PnPP).

Helen subsequently appointed a Cabinet containing 5 L&P, 5 PnPP, 4 UIS, 1 Ranginui and 3 non-partisans. She set out her goals of retaining all the original regions, securing a "training war" for all NZ fighters and continuing the trend of support ONE. Notably party members in the Cabinet included Splindza, marko_zad and Milanovic Nikola.

Her government instituted the first communication channel with Parliament, via a large in-game PM to all elected members. At the same time her regime worked to retain constant communication between the main parties, notably the L&P, UIS and PnPP. This was done to help build up strong relations and ensure her proposals secured the needed levels of support.

The training war proved contentious and led NZ to a confrontation with its large neighbor, Indonesia. Helen stood her ground and her administration secured the backing of key ONE nations Poland, Hungary and notably Serbia. The main issue was the wiping of Australia, which Helen had opposed and even vocally contested.

Post Helen Era

In the run-up to the PP elections, Helen announced she would not stand and former 2x CP, Kurojca, agreed to stand. He was challenged by party MP Grancica. He went onto victory, capturing 20 votes to 6. This victory marked a return by Kurojca to active politics and helped cement the control of the old RLP members over the party.

The party had a major breakthrough in the November parliamentary elections, when it captured 13 of 40 seats, tying it with the UIS for most seats in the Parliament. However, the real breakthrough was in popular vote, where the L&P captured over 61, ahead of the UIS who had 58. This support was crucial when L&P supported UIS candidate PedjaT in the December Presidential elections against PnPP candidate Mortalbeta. He won but in a shock move, L&P MP Grancia proposed impeached and the entire L&P caucus voted for it.

Following these moves, the party agreed to support the new Mortalbeta administration but its role in the impeachment did not go unnoticed by its members. Former Minister Milanovic Nikola challenged PP Kurojca for re-election, due to the role he played in striking this deal. In the subsequent election, Nikola won 22 votes to 6 for Kuorjca. He therefore became the new PP.

Milanovic Reign

Upon his victory, Milanovic sought to bring the L&P and PnPP closer together. He had the party support the 2nd Mortalbeta administration. The party placed 3 members in the Cabinet (Milanovic in MoD, Splindza as MoFA and ...). During his first term L&P became closer to the PnPP and supported the administration. In the parliamentary elections, the party won 10 seats and remained a major force in eNZ. The party did not endorse any candidate in the January Presidential contest. However, it unofficially supported the eventual victor, PnPP candidate Xanthar Zaiban.

This success marked the height for Milanovic. He ran for re-election as PP and easily defeated two minor candidates, amassing a vote of 26-6-1. The party remained largely supportive of his leadership, although rumblings of dissent did exist. It won 12 seats in the January parliamentary contest, a gain of 2. Emboldened, Milanovic stood for the Presidency in February in a token gesture against Xanthar. He captured 24 votes and 17%, coming second. In his subsequent cabinet he named Milanovic as MoFA and Kurojca as MoD.

However his leadership was now being questioned. He stood for re-election against a record 7 candidates. He benefited from a split field and was re-elected, capturing 33 of 45 votes. However, in the subsequent parliamentary elections, the party won 2 of 11 seats, a disappointing showing. The party's woes were compounded when it failed to nominate a candidate in the March Presidential election. The majority of its members supported UIS candidate ByBojan.

This provided Kurojca with the incentive to make a move against Milanovic, his fellow Minister, and retake the party leadership. In the vote, Kurojca managed to win 27 while Milanovic was reduced to a mere 9. This ended his leadership and restored the old guard to power.

Rise of the Machine

Under Kurojca leadership, the party returned to activity but this was largely the word of a new member, Mister Terminator. He sought to rebuild the L&P and restore the party to a major role within NZ. He rose quickly, joining a contingent of 6 L&P members elected in the March parliamentary elections. He and another member Derek Delboy Troter emerged as the principal faces of the party.

In the April Presidential race, the L&P did not run a candidate but the party unofficially offered support to the PnPP candidate Spud of Doom. Following his victory, the party secured 1 Cabinet post, Mr.T as deputy MoFA.
