Presidential elections are in fact elections for Country President.

How to become the President (requirements)?

  1. First of all Citizen has to be a Presidential candidate for the presidential elections. What do they have to do for that?
    1. They need to unlock presidential feature by reaching experience level 18.
    2. They need to be a party member.
    3. They need to be endorsed by a party president.
  2. Once they have completed all the three requirements for becoming a candidate, if the candidate is one of the top 5 candidates, he/she will be on a ballot.

Lastly, he/she needs to win the elections in order to become the country president.

How and when do elections take place?

Presidential elections.
You can see the time of announcing official results from the election page.

In Presidential elections, there are a few dates all candidates and voters should pay very close attention to.

  • The 2nd day of the month is the last day which parties can set their candidates. So make sure your party president set your candidate before the end of the 2nd day!
  • On the 5th day of each month, the presidential elections take place in eRepublik. You will need to visit the voting polls in order to see the list of the five presidential candidates from your country. It is there that you can place your vote (it is required to have an Adult Title in order to vote) as your mind (or heart) tells you to.
  • On the 6th day of the month the following takes place:
  1. At 00:00 (eRepublik time) voting ends for the Presidential elections.
  2. Between 00:00-23:59, results are displayed as Intermediate results, as Admins verify that Multi-accounts were not used.
  3. The previous President remains as President until 23:59
  • On the 7th day of the month, on the elections page, the results will be changed to Official results and the most voted candidate in a country becomes the President.

FAQ

  • Q: What happens if country is conquered during elections?
    • A: Nothing. Presidential elections are held even if the country isn't at the map during elections.
  • Q: What happens if one candidate changes the party on the 6th of the month?
    • A: The candidate will lose all the votes when changing the party before the results of the elections appear.
  • Q: What happens if there's a tie?
  • Q: I got the support of a party president, but was not on the ballot for the presidential elections?
    • A: Only top 5 candidates get an opportunity to be on the ballot. The top 5 candidates are determined by the highest rank of the party that supported them, and only the parties with the higher rank will be able to send their candidate on the presidential elections. An example below shows how the ranking works:
Candidate A got the support of party 1, 4 and 7 - as the largest party supports the candidate, the candidate is ranked #1
Candidate B got the support of party 2 and 9 - as the second largest party supports the candidate, the candidate is ranked #2
Candidate C got the support of party 3 and 17 - as the third largest party supports the candidate, the candidate is ranked #3
Candidate D got the support of party 5, 11, 14, 15 and 16 - as the fourth largest party already supports the candidate #1, the next ranked party is the 5th largest party, so this candidate is ranked #4
Candidate E got the support of party 6 - following the previous rule, the 6th largest party is the next in line, hence their candidate is ranked #5
Candidate F got the support of party 8, 10, 12, 13 and 18 - the 8th largest party is next in the line, hence their candidate is ranked #6 and will not appear on the elections
