Radu was closely associated with The Matza Party in Romania, having served as Party President 1 time. He has been elected 3 times in the Congress of Romania. He has served a lot of times in the presidential cabinet as vice-minister or minister.
In January 2011, he candidate for the President of Romania, but he was ranked on the 3rd seat with 568 (22.76%) from 2496 votes.
