History

The Redbacks were once an extremely significant part of the Australian military.

Created in the original set up by the Australian minister Tecchi in late December 2008 or early 2009, Redbacks were responsible for sending gifts and weapons to the Australian Military, but majorly focusing upon the Australian military elite, the DropBears.

The most significant contribution from the RedBacks to date would be their contributions with the DropBears, with the gifting and running of supplies in the original war for New South Wales.

The last official government article that mentions their use was this one, in which it was stated that the squad commanders for the Redbacks would be announced at a later date. Soon afterwards, it was announced by the Australian Defence Department that the Australian Commando Unit Koalas would be created.

Their responsibilities

Tecchi, the then Minister of Defence of Australia, described their responsibilities as follows:

"They are the lifeline to the Dropbears. A Redback's responsibilities include distributing weapons and moving tickets, as well as gifting Dropbears.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Active (online once a day)
- Knowledge of the Wellness System and Gifting
- No strength or level requirements![1]

It was also possible for a member of the Redbacks to join a "fighting unit", which at that time was either the DropBears or the Australian Defence Force.

Squads

Squads were, by early April, able to be seen to be set up in squad of 8, and were, as well as supplying the military with both gifts and weapons, meant to be the 33rd-64th strongest military citizens of Australia (the highest 32 being members of the DropBears. This, then, is believed to be seen as it's moving towards the creation of the Australian Commando Unit Koalas.

Redback Retirement

The Redbacks were officially retired in mid-2009.

Rebirth

The Redbacks were re-instated officially in January 2010 and unsure when they were definitely disbanded.
