The Icelandic Campaign is a campaign which is working towards Iceland being added to Erepublik. So far there are 110 members signed up to the Icelandic Forum with over 12000 posts, the membership continues to rise.
Organization
The Icelandic Campaign currently has an organization which handles the articles encouraging people to sign up to the campaign and forum. At the moment, the Republic of Iceland owns a Q1 Moving ticket company, situated in Denmark.
The Campaign also has a Ministry of Defence organi<ation in which weapons are being stockpiled for the future of the nation.
On the 17th of January 2010 the Central Bank of Iceland were created, so that no one else would create it as a fake bank.
Newspaper
The newspaper in the Republic of Iceland releases articles around the world encouraging people to sign up to the forum and support the campaign. The newspaper has 261 subscribers.
History
The Icelandic Campaign was founded on the 7th of October 2009, by Neppons. A few days later, KongoOgbi, Mappo and Umut joined the campaign. Shortly after this, the Republic of Iceland organisation was created. The organisation's main purpose is to publish articles and collect money for the campaign.
On the 26th of October, the forum was finally active. As of January 30th the forum has grown to over 7500 posts, 215 topics and 75 members (10 very active members with over 100 posts). An IRC channel was created on November 7th, 2009. On November 28th an Australian Embassy was opened. The United States and France followed suit on November 29th and 30th respectively.
On the 17th of February 2010 the Central Bank of Iceland were created.
A number of articles were released on the 19th of February, leading to that over 10 new members joined the forum, a quite large number for the campaign. The campaign also started a wiki project on this date.
