Szolidaritas Párt (Eng. The Solidarity Party) was a political party in Hungary, one of the largest counting more than 500 members.

Brief history

In October of 2008, the oldest Hungarian party, the Magyar Nemzeti Párt, was transformed into Nemzeti Szolidaritas Párt (Eng. The National Solidarity Party) when Weisz Manfred Huba took the position of the party president. Nemzeti Szolidaritas Párt is considered to be the start of the Szolidaritas Párt, dropping the Nemzeti (National) part at some point at the end of 2008 or early beginning of 2009.

During 2009, Szolidaritas Párt was one of the largest political parties in Hungary, participating in the Congress elections and supporting several successful presidential candidates. The party at that time was one of the top 10 largest parties in the New World.

In mid-2010, a slow demise of the party started. In May few members decided to move to newly started Liberális Magyarok Egységé citing that the Szolidaritas Párt lost its values[1]. Ultimately, on November 24, the party was disbanded.

There was a brief restart of the party in July 2011 when Alexandross established the Új Szolidaritás Párt (Eng. The New Solidarity Party) which lasted for a couple of months.
