You need to stop trolling this page. You have already been warned by QJ Lincoln. Icon-China.png - Jameson L. Tai talk / HKGOLDEN 08:03, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
You take the blue pill. The story end, you get banned and you do whatever you want to do.

Afrikaans

Is it possible that Afrikaans is added to the menu?

Implemented, please use category [[Category:Afrikaans]] when translating on Afrikaans!--AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 08:22, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Can we remove this? It is no longer in use. --QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 16:39, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
And you spelt Africans wrong. How embarrassing.Breton Boy 06:02, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
Actually they didn't. Afrikaans is one of the languages spoken in South Africa and it's spelled like that. Doesn't really matter anymore as the language has been removed from Wiki. --Icon-Finland.png Kuhaa|sTalk to me! 07:27, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

Australian flag

can you add the Australian flag to English? ie. Icon-UK.png /Icon-USA.png /Icon-Australia.png English maybe its just me being to patriotic but if you could it would be appreciated --Dylan of darkness 14:54, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

I believe that I can, but the update will occur (If my Internet connection doesn't crash) on Wednesday, 18. November, 01:00 eRepublik server time. --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 22:16, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
Can we just have it as the UK flag like the game does? Why clutter up the menu bar? --QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 16:46, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

Македонски јазик / Macedonian language

Could you add Macedonian language?--Macedonian Lion 22:39, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

I was planning to add new languages (If my Internet connection doesn't crash) on Wednesday, 18. November, 01:00 eRepublik server time, but did you try to translate any pages to Macedonian in your sandbox or anywhere else? (if the pages were deleted in last week process, just give me the addresses where you have translate it.) --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 22:16, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

I have made something --Macedonian Lion 15:52, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

Before we add a new language the users must show a commitment to translating pages. Users must have more than 10 game help pages translated in a sandbox before consideration. Also, I am concerned about adding a language for a country that is not in eRepublik. And for a language that only has 2.3-3 million speakers. [[1]]. --QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 16:37, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

I see countries that have less population than Macedonia(reallife) and already has ecountry and wiki translation to its language Are you discriminate small countries? --Macedonian Lion 18:39, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

No I am saying, convince me that the wiki should be translated into Macedonian. Convince me that there is enough interest to translate enough pages in the language to be worthwhile. Convince me that there are people that would find this information helpful. These are pretty much the same questions I asked below about Traditional Chinese. --QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 19:02, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
-1 It is difficult to keep current pages updated. I really see no point in adding a language for the country that is not in Erepublik. Yes, there may be Macedonian speaking citizens in Erepublik, but they are very few in number... How many Editors are there that can speak Macedonian?.... after all they are the ones who will have to keep updating those pages.----Hrvat User_talk:Hrvat 22:50, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
Hm... I agree baby, there is no point of having the language of a country that is not in the New World, I have completely disregard this fact when I was answering Macedonian... We should make some definite rules about implementation of the new languages. If Macedonian convinces you two, I have no problem of implementation of the language, but if the implementation of language will depend on Macedonian skill to translate the language alone, he will go crazy (Hrvat and I know what is to translate and re-translate articles - horror!) --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 11:21, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
The most successful language translations have been when a GROUP of people have made a conscious effort to translate pages - See pages in Croatian, Serbian, Brazilian Portuguese (yes they talked me into their form of it!), Finnish... It is really too big of a job for one person to take on. --QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 19:09, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

I am gathering a team of 3-4 maybe 5 people. In the meantime why there is South korean language when there is no one to translate into it? --Macedonian_LionIcon-Republic of Macedonia (FYROM).png 22:42, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

-1At this point, my vote is still "no". I am against adding a language for a country that doesn't exist and for a language that only has 2-3 million speakers in the world. I don't think it is an adequate use of wiki resources. If - edit- Republic of Macedonia - was added to eRepublik, it would be a different story, but now, all of the languages we have are languages that match countries in the game. --QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 18:32, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

FYROM??? I see where this conversation is going so I will stop to talk with you before it escalates. Have a nice life --Macedonian_LionIcon-Republic of Macedonia (FYROM).png 17:46, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

I apologize and corrected the term, I see that most international bodies have accepted Republic of Macedonia as the name. --QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 20:34, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

Hebrew

Is it possible to add Hebrew? Israel is an existing country in Erepublik and its Hebrew speaking community is growing and getting more organized. A Hebrew Wiki will be great.

We had Hebrew for a while, but it was never used so it was removed from the wiki. If you have a group of people willing to translate, then start working on pages in your sandbox. --QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 18:22, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

I think we have enough pages translated and over 100 active people here is the official topic for that:http://www.fxp.co.il/showthread.php?t=5538451 plus the topic is on the official hebrew forum so you can see the community Ravivkk 16:44, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Breton has 200,000 - 300,000 total speakers in the entire world. I am sorry, there is not enough case to add the language to the wiki. --QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 20:31, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

Maybe the Real World, but this is the New World! And anyway why should the cultural genocide of the French be allowed as an excuse to deny us our freedom to speak our language here? Come on QJ we need some Breton in this Hizouse. :( Stalin-Chan 06:08, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

Get enough demand and enough editors to edit and update the entire Wiki. Breton, if you want to translate the entire wiki yourself and put the articles in your userspace sandbox, I don't see why if it's functional and remains updated by you personally that it would be removed later on. Icon-China.png - Jameson L. Tai talk / HKGOLDEN 14:27, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
Rest assured that there is a very HIGH demand for Breton. I know not of this 'sandbox' you speak of, but I do know that the Bretons should get a flag circle icon like the other languages have, and that I have a crack team of editors ready to translate the entire wiki. But to do so we will need access to the 'Wingdings' Microsoft font. We use it for certain words and we could not translate without them. Breton Boy 21:41, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

Trolling. --QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 23:26, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
I'm not trolling! Some Breton words need wingding characters to be read properly. Why won't you let us use the language we want? It is dying. It is being murdered by France. WE DEMAND JUSTICE! Breton Boy 09:00, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Traditional Chinese

I would like Traditional Chinese be added to the eRep Wiki. The conversion process may simply translate everything that the current simplified Chinese version has over and should be relatively painless. Thanks. - Private First Class Jameson L. Tai talk / US Marine Corps 21:09, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

I am puzzled. What is the difference between Tradictional and simplified, and do we reallllllly need it? --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 22:16, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
Simplified Chinese is what is provided with eRepublik at the moment. It is the Chinese language that was modified by the Communist Party under Chairman Mao from "Traditional Chinese". Traditional Chinese is used by most people in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and other Chinese speaking areas not controlled by PRC forces. - Private First Class Jameson L. Tai talk / US Marine Corps 00:43, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
Do we have a group of people willing to translate into Traditional Chinese? Do we have a need for it? Can Traditional Chinese readers not understand Simplified Chinese? --QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 16:43, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
If you approve it, I'm willing to translate all of the necessary files to Traditional Chinese myself. Icon-China.png - Jameson L. Tai talk / HKGOLDEN 21:10, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
The question is, can Traditional Chinese readers understand Simplified Chinese? If there are players who desire this translation, then it can be added. However, do you really want to take on the duty of translating over 80 pages with no quality control and then have some sort of responsibility to maintain those pages when new features are added? What I mean by quality control, while I am sure you would do a good job, we all make mistakes and need another set of eyes to review what we are doing. If you are the only one doing it, I think you will come to burn out and then abandon the project, as others have.--QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 18:26, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
As long it gets approved, I'll do it it's not too big of an issue really. Icon-China.png - Jameson L. Tai talk / HKGOLDEN 02:32, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

It was changed to simplified to improve literacy rates, and it has done just that. Why not add Taiwonese to the wiki instead of taking up space with a reactionary dead alphabet? Breton Boy 04:27, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

Uh... what are you talking about? Traditional Chinese covers Taiwan. Icon-China.png - Jameson L. Tai talk / HKGOLDEN 14:24, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
Ignore him.... Questions: 1. can Traditional Chinese readers understand Simplified Chinese? Question 2. Is there a NEED for it? (Having more than one translator would demonstrate it) --QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 14:43, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
It depends on the locale. If you're talking about Hong Kong, then the 1997 takeover has slowly introduced Simplified Chinese into the society, but Traditional Chinese is still mainly used for writing. Elsewhere, it is difficult to adapt from Simplified <-> Traditional unless you've been exposed to both somehow. This includes Taiwan, Singapore, other Chinese speaking countries, and immigrants worldwide. The only country who uses Simplified Chinese is mainland China, which if the game's domestic population is any indication, we have at least 1/3 if not more of Chinese speakers alone who are not from China, which would benefit this population if they had the Traditional Chinese option available. Also, they're not too familiar with the wiki system, I asked. Icon-China.png - Jameson L. Tai talk / HKGOLDEN 19:51, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
Can someone just approve this so I have something to do... lol Icon-China.png - Jameson L. Tai talk / HKGOLDEN 01:54, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
Well, you can start translating already, even it the language isn't (yet) added to LangMenu. Also, most templates can be translated to an arbitrary language --Mini "Template" Bill Icon-Italy.png bother me! 09:23, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
Then I will begin translating to Traditional Chinese, with article suffix of 中文(繁體). Icon-China.png - General Jameson L. Tai, Commander of the HKSDU talk / HKSDU 06:01, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
It seems like the number of already translated pages is quite consistent, plus I believe him when he says that simplified Chinese may help ppl understand. +1 on adding it. Just one thing: which flag to use? --Mini "Template" Bill Icon-Italy.png bother me! 10:14, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Traditional Chinese, according to Wikimedia Foundation, is labeled as either as "Taiwan Traditional Chinese" or "Hong Kong/Macau Traditional Chinese", so perhaps a ball flag icon with half Hong Kong flag, and half Macau flag? Icon-China.png - General Jameson L. Tai, Commander of the HKSDU talk / HKSDU 15:36, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

(undent) I made a Taiwan icon a while ago, when the Admins said they were goind to make Taiwan (they chose Serbia instead). Feel free to use it, or if you want anything else just ask.--Martin23230 17:00, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

So after some discussions, the main agreement has been that since the HK/Macau combo ball flag didn't shrink as well as the HK ball flag, that we'd just use that instead.  :) Thanks Martin! :) Icon-China.png - General Jameson L. Tai, Commander of the HKSDU talk / HKSDU 05:03, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

"More languages"

Is it possible that flagballs in "more languages" are in next line instead of having them in same line? Because pages with lots of untranslated languages are stretching up, like here, or here. And BTW. Flagballs should be little smaller, maybe 20px? --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo (his discussion) 12:35, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

Lol, didn't notice that on my 1680x1050 :D Believe me, I've spent 10/20 minutes to put them in the same line, new line is much easier. Anyway, I'd wait for consensus over size before making the newline change(which will be fairly easy). Oh, and you should reorder also {{LangMenu/NNolist}} --Mini "Template" Bill Icon-Italy.png bother me! 15:44, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

Why they are last?

Why Lithuanian, Latvian and Korean are last languages in this list?

Real list should be:

  • ...
  • Italiano
  • 日本語
  • 한글
  • Latviešu
  • Lietuvių
  • Nederlands
  • Norsk
  • ...

--Icon-Latvia.png Dark Eagle (talk) 13:24, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, languages are pretty unsorted (or rather sorted by date of their adding). Any Sysop here willing to do this?

BTW. Discovered that list is unprotected (so I can do it) :P --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo (his discussion) 15:00, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

OK, Grzechooo has talk this problem with himself (xD) and managed to sort them out. And Dark Eagle, it was sorted by name of the languages, but as some sysops (like me) were very stuborn to sort the newly added languages (you mentioned few of them) the list become very unsorted. Grzechooo, I believe that everything is in order now, I don't have (unfortunately) the time to check it out, but someone will take a look and review your work. ;) --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 15:45, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

Irish/Gaeilge/Breton

I suggest we add an Irish language wiki. Irish language communities are building up all over the internet and I have been proud to be involved in the Wikipedia and the Facebook translation projects into Irish. Mozilla Firefox, Windows XP, Microsoft Office and Google are now all available in Irish so potentially, one's entire computer experience could be as Gaeilge. It's time for eRepublik to follow suit. Bonzostar 15:48, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

Yes! Irish and Breton should both be added!Breton Boy 02:54, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

The issues are this: 1.Are there people willing to translate game pages and maintain them? 2. Is it needed? Considering there are very few people that speak these languages solely and not English (or French) I can't see the rationale in adding. --QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 04:46, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
I'm sure everyone on eRep can speak English, so lets only allow English on the wiki. Is that what you want? Breton Boy 02:30, 25 December 2009 (UTC)
