The Mobile Infantry (or MI) was a branch of the paramilitary organization known as the United States Military. It is dedicated to the defense of American interests at home and abroad. As a rapid deployment force Infantrymen leave the nation regularly. The MI is filled with active, dedicated soldiers who are willing to fight for their country and follow orders quickly and without question.

Much like the Mobile Infantry in the fiction series "Starship Troopers" everyone in the MI deploys, with very rare exceptions, including the senior staff. The Mobile Infantry takes pride in being able to deliver punishing force to their enemies despite less funding and supplies of its comparable branches. This is due to a focus on efficient fighting techniques, and many soldiers willing to self-fund their weapons when needed.

History

The Mobile Infantry was originally the third division of the National Guard. They were formed towards the end of the Romanian Campaign in Asia. With time, the Mobile Infantry become a standalone branch of the US Armed Forces. The Mobile Infantry was known for its ability to quickly mobilize.

Commanding Officers

General Istarlan

Before the United States Mobile Infantry came into existence, it was the United States National Guard, 3rd Division (Cavalry). General Istarlan (the first woman General in the eUS Military) commanded the US National Guard and was instrumental in the creation of this division and its subsequent formation into an independent branch. At the time the eUS Army was experiencing organizational issues and was combat ineffective, which is why the 3rd Division was formed.

General Bastion

Bastion was the first General of the US Mobile Infantry after it was formed in April from the 3rd Division of the United States National Guard. His Executive Officer was Lieutenant General Loftedraptor until his retirement on July 11, 2009. He was in command during such operations as Operation Turkish Delight, in which Israel was liberated and most of Greece was liberated as well from Turkey. He named his XO, loftedraptor, as his replacement. General Bastion played a major roll in getting the Mobile Infantry established as a military branch. During his tenure, the MI settled into its niche and grew.

General loftedraptor

The second General of the US Mobile Infantry was Loftedraptor and during his tenure, the US Mobile Infantry expanded to around 450 players and was in the process of establishing its fifth combat deployable company of soldiers. Under his command, activity within the Mobile Infantry flourished as it grew in size and its identity was strengthened. Loftedraptor was forced out of command after ordering the US Mobile Infantry to Ukraine on the eve of citizenship implementation as was subsequently blacklisted and dishonorably discharged from the US Military.

General Sir Valaro Volcrum

After Loftedraptors DD and permanent blacklist from the eUS Military, his XO Lieutenant General Sir Valaro Volcrum (SVV) took over the Mobile Infantry with the support of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Immediately SVV created a staff from across the board, pulling Deificus from the Airborne as his XO. Under SVV, massive amounts of members were shed due to lack of funding and inactivity of a large number of soldiers. Many reforms to the structure have also instituted that lead to two separate command structures, the Operations and Support divisions. Operations involved all personnel in combat roles while the Support section handled quartermaster work, recruitment and the media. Beerman616 was called upon and made Operations head as a Brigadier General and Issues was pulled from the US Army to serve as Support head and reorganized the Quartermaster staff.

Due to the size of the Mobile Infantry (around 450 members), SVV ordered that a roll call is sent out. Those that responded within 24 hours stayed, those after 24 hours but before 48 hours were sent to the Home Guard and anything past 48 hours was met with an honorable discharge due to inactivity. Within two days the Mobile Infantry dropped from 450 to 305 members, which ended up leading to the newly formed Easy Company being deactivated the partially filled Delta Company also being deactivated leaving Alpha, Bravo and Charlie company.

Also under SVV, an in house military intelligence program was set up to aid the Central Intelligence Agency in intelligence gathering as well as an elite combat unit called the Marauders. The military intelligence program lead by then Major General Bloomfield was highly successful (information on its success remains classified) while the Marauder program never got off the ground.

After this short time of command, but with staggering reforms, SVV resigned to due RL reasons and almost quit the game but ended up in South Africa and two weeks after that in Israel where he's resided since September 2009. With the resignations of Issues, the support head and the retirement of Major General Bloomfield, the command was turned over to trusted XO and adviser, Deificus. He took over and operations head Beerman616 was assigned as his XO.

General Deificus

Deificus served as General of the MI in order to help the branch to fully recover from the scandal loftedraptor left the MI under. Under Deificus's leadership, the MI cleaned house of a lot of inactive soldiers to become a much more responsive and hard-hitting unit. In September 2009, Deificus announced his retirement from the MI and announced his replacement, the MI XO LTG beerman616.

General beerman616

In September 2009, then-Lieutenant General beerman616 accepted Deificus's offer to become the MI CO upon Deificus's retirement from the MI. General beerman616 announced that long-time officer Lt. Gen. Seuss would become his new XO.

General Seuss

Seuss took over when beerman616 resigned, and led the branch for several months.

Sadly, his real life took over one day and he went inactive for about a month. The JCS were not eager to replace him, and so the XO, GoalieBCSC took over and lead the branch as the Executive Officer for a month. Seuss was finally relieved of his command and GoalieBCSC was promoted to Commanding Officer.

General GoalieBCSC

GoalieBCSC was the defacto Commanding Officer as Seuss went inactive and disappeared during the end of his run. After roughly a month of running the MI like that, Seuss was finally removed in July of 2010 and GoalieBCSC was officially installed as CO.

Goalie faced a number of challenges during his time as CO, most notable of which was dealing with the changes brought about by V2, the large decrease in the player base, and the eventual reversal and transition out of V2.

Goalie resigned as Commanding Officer on February 1st, 2011, appointing his executive officer, tsewell as his successor. He remained on as an advisor for the MI for a few months afterwards.

General tsewell

General tsewell led the Mobile Infantry following the retirement of GoalieBCSC. His term as Commanding Officer was a difficult one, having to deal with a number of issues which forever changed the MI and the military in general.

During his first month came government reductions and cuts in funding, to the point the MI's entire reserve funds were depleted and massive supply cuts had to be made. Then came the anti-military constitutional amendment passed by Congress which resulted in increased tensions and the eventual declaration by the JCS to separate themselves from Congress. The remainder of his term was dealing with the tough transition to independence, dealing with the new replacement "official" military created by President Emerick run by political appointees (many of which were disgruntled former military members who where dishonorably discharged or banned from the military), and futile attempts at negotiating with the politicians who didn't want a resolution but the dismantling of the military.

tsewell, having dealt with some of the toughest months in the MI's history, resigned after four months on June 2nd, 2011. His XO, AutumnsDawn, was selected as his replacement.

Modern MI

The modern Mobile Infantry was an active and fun group of dedicated soldiers, eager to serve their country and show the world their might. Soldiers felt strong ties to their respective companies and platoons, but at the same time were in a closely knit brotherhood with the rest of the Mobile Infantry.

Structure

The Mobile Infantry was split into two companies, which were in turn split into six platoons. The MI was also served by staff and adviser officers who may or may not also serve in the command side of the MI. It was at the discretion of the General of the MI to allow exceptions for officers who show themselves to be capable of the rigorous duties of commanding their particular unit or company and also fulfil their staff duties.
