The Universal Left was a left wing libertarian/anarchic political party from South Africa that believed in direct democracy (the government where everyone has the opportunity to change the laws they run by) and state run economic sectors (having government funded companies to prevent inflation and product depressions). It was a political union of three parties, the Democratic Anarcho-Socialism Party, the Democratic Red and Black Party, and the Communist Party of eSouth Africa. It was designed to make sure that there was a united, not separated, far left movement to create balance and total equality in South Africa.
After South Africa was divided between Indonesia and Brazil, the party was renamed Mniejszosc Polska and become a part of Indonesia's political sphere. It had 24 members before this time, and had as many as 2 seats in the South African congress (at last count before the party's disappearance). It was succeed by the Mniejszosc Polska party.

Direct Democracy
In a direct democracy everyone has the ability to have their opinions and requests heard. Imagine a country where no matter who you are, petty farmer or leader of a massive corporation, you have the same rights and voice as everyone else. Everyone, talking in eRepublik terms, is a congressman or congresswoman. You all are given the right to vote and create potential laws, which in turn would be voted on by everyone else. This is the free-est form of government possible, before complete anarchy.
The Third Generation
Starting as an economic plan during the Croatian dictatorship period of South Africa, Democratic Communism was proposed by Ryan Dagari on the SAIL forum to be a post-dictatorship economic renewal move. It was widely put down as impractical and not-needed in its scope, however after deliberation Ryan Dagari concluded that it could indeed work and broke off from the BLF, creating the Dem. Anarcho-Socialism Party.
The DAS months - November 2008 - January 2009
During the DAS period, the party was extremely small, with only a handful of members. Every month the DAS party would endorse the BLF candidate with hopes that the BLF candidate would accept some of the DAS views into their presidency, seeing as how DAS was far too small to reach the top 5. Eventually the party had agreed that its time as a small player had ended, and it merged with the Socialist Democratic party.
The DRB months - January 2009-April 2009
The newly formed Democratic Red and Black party, made to resemble the power of revolution and anarchy, was far more successful in terms of its member outreach. More players began to connect with the party, and it finally rose above 10 members and almost 20 on one occasion. While still small, it was an enormous effort considering the sheer hard left turn that the party stood for. In the March congressional elections, the DRB was given its first chance to run for congress after the workers party finally dropped out of the top 5. The DRB was massacred, gaining only 2 seats, however it tugged on. In the April Presidential elections, Ryan Dagari announced his candidacy proudly under the DRB flag, and despite losing, it was the first time a far left party had run for presidential office in eSA history.
The UL - April 2009-Present
The UL is the final merger, a merger between the DRB and the Communist party of SA. With the merger, the party stood at 30 members total for its first month, and remains the most open and consent generation of the far left trilogy. Instead of running for presidency, it made a surprise move in the May Presidential elections and nominated the BLF candidate Gabriel Borien, one that dumbfounded opposition parties. The UL claims it supported Gabrial out of a political necessity; the oncoming threat of a political takeover needed a untied nation, not a divided voting platform.
Ryan Dagari has remained the party president of all three parties for every month, from November to present. He has welcomed opposition, yet every month there is a party president election Ryan Dagari is chosen for his strong vision and ability to express the views of the party. He was the founder, and remains the confident leader.
Democratic Red
It is strongly pushed that everyone, no matter who they are, is given equal economic and civil rights as the next person. There is no cabinet, the cabinet are the people. There is no congress, the congress is the people. There is no representation besides yourself, and you yourself have an unlimited number of votes which you can use to shape your own future.
Red Economy
Having a communist economy sounds scary to a lot of people. It doesn't work well in real life, and it has many flaws that are caused by greed. In eRepublik, the world is a lot different. You can have a state run economy without bogging down civil liberties.
You do not own a company. Instead, you work for a wage that far exceeds anything you would ever get with your own company. There is no competition, so prices, set by yourselves after discussion, are placed on the market. There are unlimited funds for as things sell, the money just comes back into your own pocket, regardless of what sector you work for. Eventually, you may even aspire to be an economist, and you can help the government run the companies. If you can garner the public to your side, you can accomplish all your economic dreams.
Democratic Anarchy. The very name seems to envision both a good system, and a widely shunned system. What few recognize however, is that Democratic Anarchy is the most free form of a country that still has some form of government.
The name may sound as though it contradicts itself, but Democratic Anarchy is a true idea. It may sound like it is a jungle of two different words, but these words co-exist in a way that should be embraced. Democratic Anarchy is a type of Direct Democracy whereas the people decide everything, not in the form of anarchy, but in the form that everyone is a 'congressman'.
How does this possibly work? A forum is created (We may be able to use the one already around) and citizens can go to it to request a change in how things work. Example: You decide that the country should raise its level 3 wage from 15 zar to 20 zar. You propose it, and if after three days of voting time it has a positive citizen vote count, the organizations around the economy will move all the wages up!
When it comes to other issues, such as taxes and things that must be done through the congress, resolutions on the forum that are passed are pushed through congress. How does this happen? Congress is put under influence control by use of exploitation and force to keep in office congressmen to vote yes and no.
This may sound very evil and harsh to do it to people who were elected by the people, but erep pretty much forces you to have congressmen, and nothing stops them from voting for themselves.
In the Democratic Anarchic world, you need no congressmen. The people decide what is good for their own views, instead of putting faith in a controversial potential liar who seems to resemble similar views. You decide what happens, the people, not congress.
Anyone may vote, and anyone may submit a proposition. A series of admins will keep record of passed and failed resolutions.
Now that we have covered the political sector briefly, I will explain the economics of this plan.
The Economy.....
"No, anarcho-socialism lets the worker choose the workforce he wants to learn his skill into, we don't place them there. Deus said that we did somewhere, no idea why he said that... In the perfect nationalized society, people make more money than they ever would with a company, with balanced wages through-out the economy, allowing the player to work where he wants, not where the highest wage is."
Now comes the Socialism part of the DAS (Democratic Anarcho-Socialism) plan. This part has a lot of red fear, controversy, and unwillingness to even try in short term tests. It is the belief of many that co-operatives in the economy can fix things. This just takes them a step further.
Socialism in eRepublik is very limited, you can only do so much. What I should make clear to everyone right now, is that you will never be able to have a company in this plan.
First things first. In each sector of the economy, there will be five, state run and funded companies, each a different quality. Let me show you here-
We Have the economic sector, Gifts
Gifts is distributed into eight, state run companies with funding from the government. Each will be made after periods of time, from the lowest Q to the highest. The creation of eight is a long term goal, but for one term in office there would be two or three.
Each sector and company has the same default layout as this one, with these proposed wages-
-Q1 Gifts - Starting at skill level 1, with a salary of 8zar, every next skill level (2,3,4,5,6,7...) gives an additional 4zar.
As workers begin to fill in the appropriate roles (workers interested in a certain skill's training may work wherever they want) changes will be suggested to change worker skill level requirements in different sectors, to influence fluidly a change of certain skilled workers from point A to B. This will only happen if it would pass the popular vote.
In this system, everyone is a worker. Everyone works, and in the end, receives far much more money than they would anywhere else in South Africa, besides the diamond industry (but who wants to give them any more money?).
With all the excess that this will produce, we will begin to export our goods, allowing South Africa to become a powerful exporter.
Foreign Policy...
A massive undertaking will be our new foreign policy. Probably the first to do so, will have our people, 100%ly decide on what we do. We will all decide, together, upon how we reach out to others, MPP's and other things in debate, together, without any power hungry or mindless men in congress proposing MPP's left and right.
