Your idea might be very useful in the long term

http://wiki.erepublik.com/index.php?title=Train&curid=58049&diff=238055&oldid=229069

Basically, until now, when name pages changed in eRepublik, the page was moved and the redirect deleted. Then the fixing of red links came into place... Your idea to transform a redirect in a simple page to explain a concept can be applied to all name pages changes from the main site. Talk to other Uber Editors to take it under consideration when dealing with redirects which are used in a lot of pages. Well done! --Belea2008 12:03, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Thankyou (again)

For the support In the vote taking place in the Bar. And (again) - sorry about making mistakes with some of the pages I have made. Im learning this stuff from experience, rather than prior knowledge. - Timeoin 01:18 10 January, 2010 (UTC).

p.s. did you have a nice Christmas and New Year?

Forbidden deletions

I have a problem. I have added something new to the deletion policy. And you have nominated/article was deleted by QJ. I really believe that author can not blank pages that have been moved from his user pages to the official namespace. What do you think? The article that "caught" my eye is Devioux. Please, do not think that you have done nothing wrong, but I believe that we have to implement some official standards. (My bad is that I didn't look at the Articles for Deletion past week! :() Best regards, --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 19:35, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Oh, I hadn't read that last section as the rule was added on a time I did only few edits per day (though that's not an excuse. I'm now watching that page ;) ). I agree you have a point, though that particular page had very little content to begin with (I don't know if this works but you can try to see here. On the other hand there were four links pointing to it so maybe I should have just reverted the edit. I agree that pages shouldn't be deleted just because original author wants to, but how do we define when a page has become part of eRepublik history? Pages about parties and wars etc are obvious but I think citizen pages are a problem. Most of them are stubs and become outdated when citizen loses interest or dies so they don't always provide valuable information about the citizen or eRepublik's history. Would it be better to allow blanking and deleting of citizen pages that haven't been updated for a long time and that don't have any information that couldn't be seen by watching citizen's profile page in game? I hope you find my point. --Icon-Finland.png Kuhaa|sTalk to me! 20:23, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
I know Kuhaa, but imagine that I delete my page because I don't want to update it any more... A Country President, Party President, Congressman, etc. If a person doesn't have ANY accomplishments, than ok, lets blank it and delete it, but if he was a party president and congressman, and especially President... Than we should leave it. --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 20:31, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
I agree with Andycro - "important" people should not have their pages deleted. -- Icon-Australia.png Timeoin | Say G'Day 01:43 20 January 2010 (UTC).
Agree with you, but it's difficult to define who's "important" and who's not. I for example am fairly known in Finnish community, but do I consider myself "important" citizen? I'm a minor player, but the few people I've played this game with might find information on my citizen page interesting. This applies to everybody, so I think we should look the content of the page; does it provide information we wouldn't otherwise get? Pages with "X is a citizen of Y, born on the day ddd of the New World" and a list of trophies are things we would find out if we looked the citizens profile page, so it's not a big deal if the author decides to blank the page. But if the page contains more detailed text about citizen and an informative citizen template, then it shouldn't be allowed to be blanked just because nobody wants to edit it. Even more, if the page contains information about eRepublik history that has touched the citizen's life it shouldn't be removed. For example, if we look Andy's citizen page we will find out that Croatia was added to eRepublik on December 2008 and that Croatia-Serbia War started on early 2009. In my opinion these are the things that make a page become a part of eRepublik history.
And about being faster, I was just replacing soon-to-be-deleted image links with another one. :) Cheers! --Icon-Finland.png Kuhaa|sTalk to me! 18:56, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Sorting not alphabetically

Well, I see your last edition over Argentina's page, and I think I disagree about that code to be unnecesary: the idea was to sort the political and economical orientation in their correct order, not alfabethical one, and that is the only way that I found to do so (to put a number before). Ok, maybe too many small code, but I don't know which code I have to use to lower the pixels of the number so it doesn't get seen, maybe that could fix it, ;) --Icon-Chile.png Purohueso (talk if you want) 18:17, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

Wait, you mean sorting like:
  • Far-Left,
  • Center-Left
  • Center
  • Center-Right
  • Far-Right
If yes, I will than try to find a better solution (that was toooo many coding). If not, than tell me exactly what do you mean. --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 09:31, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
Yes, that was the idea, :P, alfabethically it will put it like C, CL, CR, FL, FR, and that really doesn't show clearly the political spectre of the country... and well, it goes also for Totalitarian, Authoritarian, Libertarian and Anarchist, ;)
The only thing that I think of would be founding a code that just make it small (1px) and add the colour background, so it doesn't get viewable, as I do with those like 10 small code (but I don't know the code to do that, or I would had done it already, :P). Other solution, but I don't know if possible, would be to code in the sorting of those columns the right order, but I think it would use more code than just the size-colour code.--Icon-Chile.png Purohueso (talk if you want) 18:19, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
I believe that I could dig up a template for this... It would make your coding much easier. OK? I will do it on my to do list next week, so please be patient until then. --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 18:25, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Ok, thanks... for one of the fastest replies that I'd seen, :O Good luck over the week, ;)--Icon-Chile.png Purohueso (talk if you want) 18:35, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

Job for me from you :D

I currently have a problem with this file Flag_Philippines.jpg. It keeps saying that a it was linked to Thirteenth Philippine Congress, but I couldn't find the image when I try editting it. It wasn't found in the template either. Can you help me with Andy? --• • <font-color="amber">Prince Terence II</font> Icon-Philippines.png <font-color="#000000">Mabuhay ang Pilipinas! • • </font> 04:40, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

I will put it on my to-do list, but maybe I won't manage to do it today. --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 11:01, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Another template to fix?

Hi, thanks for the help last time. I wanted to make a new template for raw materials in Persian, but don't have the necessary permissions. I am making the pages, but cant make the template. Could you help me out? Gorgepir | Talk 18:41 Feb. 2010

Implemented: Template:RawMaterialsNavigation/فارسی. And Gorgepir, you can create templates in your user page (Example:User:Gorgepir/Sandbox) and when you create it, just buzz me and I will move it to the correct place. About permissions... You first have to make certain numbers of article edits (I can't remember how many) before you could edit/create templates... Just be patient and work on articles, soon you will get that permission (you will get it automatically). --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 18:55, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
How will I know when I do? Gorgepir | Talk 20:10 Feb. 2010
Engineers are experienced editors that have made over 400 contributions to the wiki. You should monitor the number of total contributions in Contributions. When your name shows up in top editors list (list that is on the top), you are either received the permission to edit templates, or you are very close to achieving it. --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 11:00, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
Ok, still have only 100 (in 7 days :p) but until then I will nag you to make the templates. Gorgepir Flag of Iran talk to me - کاری باری؟ 12:23 Feb. 9, 2010
Don't worry, just buzz me. :) --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 10:55, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

BUZZ! I have created the template for Soldier actions in Persian in User:Gorgepir/Sandbox as you suggested. Could you move it to the right place? Thanks. Gorgepir | Talk 07:54 9 Feb. 2010

Done. Please have in mind new eRepublik:Naming policy that has some new rules about naming articles. (example: There is no more Military Rank, it should be Military rank) --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 11:00, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for pointing that out. I just copy pasted the English version, and that had Military Rank I guess. Gorgepir Flag of Iran talk to me - کاری باری؟ 11:18 Feb. 9, 2010
Your observation is excellent, I have corrected the english template. ;) --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 11:25, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

BUZZ AGAIN! Sorry bout this, but another template for formulas in Persian User:Gorgepir/Sandbox. This one was a bit trickier, needed to change the core template as well. Maybe you know a better way? Gorgepir Flag of Iran talk to me - کاری باری؟ 12:48 Feb. 9, 2010

Of course I know better way, is it very similar as for previous template. I have done these corrections, so could you take a look is everything ok? Template:Formulas/فارسی --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 10:55, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
Perfect. Gorgepir Flag of Iran talk to me - کاری باری؟ 14:49, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

BUZZ! This time I think you need to make the English template as well. If you check out User:Gorgepir/Sandbox I have explained what needs to be done for the Wars template. Thanks Gorgepir Flag of Iran talk to me - کاری باری؟ 09:33, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Help with signature

Hi, I was wondering if you can help me out with my signature? For the time being I have made the userpage User:Gorgepir/Signature with my signature. I just copy paste the code from there. Reading the tutorial I see that it is possible to use ~ ~ ~ ~ to sign. But if I use that, I dont get the code in this page. Is there a way to avoid copy pasting? Thanks for helping out. Gorgepir Flag of Iran talk to me - کاری باری؟ 23:18, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

Sure. Go to your Preferences and in signature (just above language) write: {{subst:User:Gorgepir/Signature}}. Than you can use ~~~~ for signatures. --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 10:30, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
I might be doing something wrong, but this is how it looks (with ~~~~).... {{subst:User:Gorgepir/Signature}} 14:43, 10 February 2010 (UTC). Help?

You're not alone

I have some terrible problems with wiki and eRepublik (page open errors - chickens everywhere) so I am wondering, am I the only one with this problems, or do you have also this wiki and eRepublik issues? --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 16:30, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

Also, I have a tip for you (I said that it was free, but in fact you have to pay me a beer when you see me in RL): Do not change my changes from [[File:Name of the picture.xxx]] to [[Image:Name of the picture.xxx]]. This is nothing wrong, but I had a talk with Belea and Adi and they said that it is better that images are marked with File (issue for better wiki linking!). --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 16:30, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

I too am haunted by the headless chicken. This morning I got really frustrated trying to give my citizen a gift from my organization when all I saw was "Oops, something went wrong!", and I've also got a few errors in Wiki so don't worry, it's not just you. About Image:s and File:s, I didn't realise I did the opposite what you were doing, and I actually didn't even realise you had already edited Finnish page. I just checked here what changes you did and only though of replacing the prefix with "the other one". I should've noticed it has already been done. Thanks for the information, I owe you that beer! --Icon-Finland.png Kuhaa|sTalk to me! 18:38, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
And now I have a question: wouldn't this be an exception to the eRepublik:Naming policy? It has a capital letter in the middle of a word, but if it's a game entity and the group indeed is called DropBears and not Dropbears, Drop bears or Drop Bears, shouldn it be allowed to have a page named exactly as it is, or would this be a case where Display title template should be used?--Icon-Finland.png Kuhaa|sTalk to me! 19:11, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

Spelling

Lol. Apologies about that. I woke up at about 6 am, couldnt sleep (and there wasnt much point because I had to get up in an hour for RL work - so i went and started viewing pages at random. Somehow, I stumbled onto your page. Im not sure why, or how - but yes, I fixed a single letter on your page. :( -- --Icon-Australia.png Timeoin|Say G'Day to Timeoin 11:48, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
