Press releases

Do you still have the the press releases from Beta. Last time I've heard from them, you said you will import them in the Wiki. Need help with that? --Geo "Talk Pages" Belea 17:23, 1 February 2009 (PST)

I think that is better to upload them only if we need them, because they're a bunch of data, and they're useless if not used --Mini "Template boy" Bill Italian in the deep core have a biscuit 06:19, 2 February 2009 (PST)
Two questions- 1) Will these press releases stay forever so I have time to update some pages then ask for them if neccessary? 2) Can you get it for these and put them in the talk page as evidence? Human_Rights_Charter Regards --Aryamehr Flag of Iran talk 21:21, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
I have a copy of these so, yes, they will likely "stay forever" and yes, I can publish them and assure their truth. --Mini "Template" Bill Italian in the deep core bother me! 10:13, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Aiuto

Un rumeno, tal belea2008 mi ha roolbackato queste frasi con unica giustifica "There is a feature in game that allows you to take over a country? From my knowledge, there is no red button... as a matter a fact, there is no button called "Take over country X..." Am I missing something?".

Cmq la pagina migliore dove discutere è il Bar --Mini "Template boy" Bill Italian in the deep core have a biscuit 05:06, 6 February 2009 (PST)

Template:Congress Bot

I don't know how bots work or really how they work at all. Would it be possible to create a bot that could update the list of Congressmen after each election? Again, I have have no idea of the capabilities of a bot, but it would be a good idea none the less. I have limited programming skill, so ultimately, if the decision were made to make one, you're the only user I know who knows how. -- Citizen1257373.jpg Mr. Awesome | Talk | 12:37, 9 February 2009 (PST)

I would need to integrate the bot with the eAPI, which is a thing I plan to do, but I have no time for. It is feasible, but I dunno how long would it take --Mini "Template boy" Bill Italian in the deep core have a biscuit 12:41, 9 February 2009 (PST)

/v/er

Sorry, why are you deleting every reference to "/v/er"? --Mini "Template boy" Bill Italian in the deep core have a biscuit 06:34, 2 February 2009 (PST)

Censorship. --Aryamehr Flag of Iran talk 08:08, 2 February 2009 (PST)
Also, an official explanation on why all references to the term "pig disgusting" were deleted would be useful. --Geo "Talk Pages" Belea 00:04, 6 February 2009 (PST)
Also another explanation why none of the people using it got banned and those who used /v/er got banned (some). And why it's suddenly bad, after it has been used many times since December. --Aryamehr Flag of Iran talk 05:41, 6 February 2009 (PST)

Dear contributors,

Thank you for your messages! We have deleted any reference to "/v/er" and "pig disgusting" because they have been used repetitively as an insult/trolling/flaming and as a mark of disrespect and (sometimes) disgust towards other citizens/contributors. We strongly believe that allowing their usage will lead to more grievance and animosities.

Regards,
The eRepublik team

Iran page and the source.

Hi Minibill
This is not the first time you add the reference tag without even asking for the evidence. Although I have no problems with that and forgive you I just want to say please next time write in the talk page and follow the policy like the rest of us.
Now I would like to know what kind of evidence exactly you want for putting the ref tag on the alireza-irani page. You know I did not write it but after I talked with some Iranians and saw newspaper comments it seemed like he really didn't do anything during his presidency. I am just curious again what kind of evidence you would find appropriate.

Regards,

Just bumping this in case you missed it MiniBill. --Aryamehr Flag of Iran talk 10:39, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
How about responding to my source requests.. or other people's?
- ThisGenMedia aka Franco aka Teacher Amerikkka/The Party Hey girl, can I hit you back? 16:04, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

I actually missed it, yes. The problem with that text is that, as I now notice, it's not possible to provide a real reference. I'll think about it --Mini "Template" Bill Italian in the deep core bother me! 10:50, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

{{eBox}}

I received word from the Wigs during our "proxy correspondence" yesterday that they agree with the change from {{Ambox}} to {{eBox}}. Are you ready to make the job queue run wild? - –Dr. AgentChieftain Flag of the Crescent and Star PPP! B / C / D / F / P / S 03:48, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

:) I'll do it manually though, cause most of the pages using ambox are really using a template --Mini "Template" Bill Italian in the deep core bother me! 10:04, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Nice idea... but let's make it not so "do this or you will be doomed forever" scary. Also, some colors would be nice! And the last idea: you can always propose a change in the "Central Notice" up there by modifying the files here - User_talk:MiniBill/January2009 (first section). --Geo "Talk Pages" Belea 18:26, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Better? --Mini "Template" Bill Italian in the deep core bother me! 18:27, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
Btw I can't actually edit the "Central Notice"... --Mini "Template" Bill Italian in the deep core bother me! 18:31, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
Neither do I, but I just talked with a "wig" that's online to do server changes. What do you need? --Geo "Talk Pages" Belea 18:33, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
Well, I don't really know how wigs edit the central notice, so... --Mini "Template" Bill Italian in the deep core bother me! 18:34, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

ANOTHER CLUE TO THE {{Collapse}} MYSTERY

Template:Template category

I'm taking this template apart for our use. It uses a table to make the header used in the template, which is something like this:

<table class="collapsible collapsed" style="width:100%; padding-top:0.25em; background:transparent;">
     <tr><th style="border-bottom:1px solid #aaa; text-align:left;">{{{1}}}</th>

Pretty sure this is a step forward in getting {{Collapse}} to work properly. - –Dr. AgentChieftain Flag of the Crescent and Star PPP! B / C / D / F / P / S 02:05, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Template Translations

Hi MiniBill, you're really working hard for making new translated templates. I had seen the new local Bar pages and created Turkish version also. Could you add Turkish Bar announcement too in the main page? Thanks for your effort. --emredo aka equilibrium1907 || Turkish Citizen || Fenerbahçe Supporter 10:37, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Why all the translated pages appear when a contributor uses LangMenu? See the differences:

Thanks in advance for the clarification! --Admin 16:41, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Hello

Any ideas with what should I start my life as Wiki Bot? Where I can read information about my "powers" and how can I use them? --Admin Bot 11:05, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Do you *actually* know what bot is? --Mini "Template" Bill Italian in the deep core bother me! 13:30, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
Yes, I know what I am. Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Creating_a_bot, basic programming skills and a great desire to learn things is all I have at the moment. Any initial advices? --Admin Bot 15:10, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
First thing: decide which library to use, based on your programming language. I personally use DotNetWikiBot, because I write code in C#. If you know C# I can give you my code (GPL license). On MiniBot page there is an old version of my bot, I'm just too lazy to upload the new one. A simple "excercize" would be to mark unused images that have been uploaded more than 7 days ago with {{subst:Deletion|Admin Bot|Old & unused}} --Mini "Template" Bill Italian in the deep core bother me! 21:31, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Portal:Military/Alliances

I centered all three of these lists with <table>, but now they expand centrally instead of from the top. My idea is to just not use <table>, but that would mess up the alignment of the lists. Any ideas? - –Dr. AgentChieftain Flag of the Crescent and Star PPP! B / C / D / F / P / S 04:04, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
