The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is a professional basketball league in the Philippines composed of mostly company-branded franchised teams.
Formation
Teams
Most franchises are owned by corporations. Other teams are sponsored by cities. They are not actually based on geographic locale, so they do not play in a home stadium. The league rents the different stadiums in which the teams play.
A team's name can be divided in two similar ways. If a company name is used, it is often divided into two parts; the first is the product name, then a nickname - usually connected to the product. The other way is when a place is used. It is divided into two parts; the place, then a nickname.
