How to upgrade
If you are the general manager of a company, you can choose to upgrade a company's quality for a certain amount of gold (see 'Cost of Upgrading' below). You may do this by clicking the upgrade button located next to the product design attributes.
After you've found the "Company setup & product design" page, you can choose to either upgrade or downgrade your company by clicking on the button under the desired company level (with each level corresponding to a different product).
Effects of upgrading
Upgrading your company allows you to produce better products. In certain areas, this can mean a more efficient and profitable business. However, there are several things you should consider or take care of before upgrading:
- Raw material usage is increased
- Workers lose more health working at your company
Costs of Upgrading and Downgrading
Upgrading a company requires gold, while downgrading one returns part of the investment originally involved in upgrading it. The table below shows the total amount of gold required to upgrade and the total amount of gold returned with downgrading with the original level on the left column and the desired level on the top row. (Use this table as you would a multiplication table.)
