Sweden declared this war after Germany signed an MPP with Indonesia, but before this MPP was active. Their official motive was that they didn't want to be cornered by anyone. After a long war, a controversial cease fire and an even more controversial peace Contract, Germany got back 3 regions that were conquered agreeing in the same time to be an ally to Sweden. Analysts still debate if Germany or Sweden gained something really important from this war, besides spending a lot of resources.
