The party for when you want to vote for a cardboard box.

The Cardboard Box Party was created on the 7th of January as "The Fancy Party". The justification for the parties creation is unclear. On the 25th of January the party was renamed to become "The Cardboard Box Party". The new name represents a joke in Ireland that expresses the opinion that none of the candidates for a particular position are desirable or that the elections actually don't matter. In effect, the cardboard box party represents the apathetic and/or sarcastic citizens of Ireland.

The parties logo of a mannequins head garnished with a black top hat, is a left over from the days when the party was known as "The Fancy Party". At this time, the parties slogan was:

"The Fanciest Party in Ireland"
