Democratic Party of India (abbr. DPI) is the largest political party in Icon-India.png India. The party has a complicated history as it was several times stopped and restarted again.

Edition 1 (2009-2010)

The First edition of the party was created in the early part of Indian history. It is known that the party ID at the time was 2495 and one of the first mentions in the newspapers was on day 471 (5 March 2009)[1]. DPI was the second oldest party in India; it was first called India's Libertarian's, then changed to India's Worker's Party, and finally to Democratic Party of India[2]. At its peak, it had about 70 members.

It is for sure that the party was active til end of the 2010 as there were some mentions later on in the year[3][4][5][6][7][8].

On day 674 (24 September 2009) party open its newspaper named Swaraj run through its organization.

Edition 2 (2011-2012)

In October 2011, troj4n20 announced he will be running for the party president of the Hindu National Front with a purpose to re-establish Democratic Party of India (DPI)[9]. After successfully winning the elections, troj4n20 named the party Bharatiya National Party (abbr. BNP) during the transition period to what will eventually become the DPI.[10]

On day 1443 (2 November 2011) party was officially renamed into DPI[11], few days before presidential elections where troj4n20 decided to support Alector. Alector won the elections with 63 % of the votes.

Around 15th of September 2012, most likely Samnomix, the party president at the time, renamed the party to Forward Bloc[12]

The third and current edition was firstly known just as the Democratic Party (abbr. DP) and was co-founded on 6th of June 2013 by Real Steel 4, Forter, Anish Jain, Nikhil Jaiswal and TheFlyingDorito. The first party president was Forter[13].

It is unknown when the party was renamed back to the current Democratic Party of India name, however, most likely it happened in mid-2016.
