York City Council

York City Council was a policy proposed by Congressman IndieKid in January 2009 to integrate new players into the governance of the region. The Council runs low-level features locally to encourage forum membership and political activity through a mixture of powers and incentives.

History
YCC was founded and run by key local figures IndieKid and Count Drakula. IndieKid and Iain Keers funded the founding and running of the org using their congressman funds. Throughout January-February the council distributed £400 in food and prizes to local citizens. In early March Congress voted to suspend unnecessary luxuries in an attempt to bail out the failing economy. The future of York City Council is as yet unknown.
Positions
York City Council contains a number of positions, appointed by the sitting congressmen in the region.
Councillor of Health
Works with Y&H NHS director IndieKid to provide food to younger citizens who show strong activity in-game as an incentive to join the forums.
Councillor of Transport
Works with the Ministry of Migration and Support to move citizens from more crowded regions to Yorkshire & Humberside.
Councillor of Entertainment
Responsible for running competitions within and around Y&H, quiz teams from other districts, setting up quizzes between members on the Y&H forums to encourage activity and running competitions such as logo design, mottos and slogans for Y&H as well as maybe art and writing competitions.
Councillor of Public Relations
Sending messages to new members and directing them towards the forums. Writing newspaper articles encouraging members to sign up to the regional forums.
