The 2nd Combat Division was formed by LtGEN Cubby under GEN Angelini after the restructuring of the United States Training Corps.
The USTC Combat Division was where most soldiers found themselves after a stint in the Reserve Division. Once proven, they were assigned to 2 Div, where they were given the opportunity to rank up using occasional weapon supplies. Once billets opened in the more advanced branches of the US Armed Forces (ie, Home Guard, Mobile Infantry, Army, and Marine Corps), and the soldier met those requirements, they were free to leave the USTC and move into those branches. The Combat Division was the only division of the USTC that was mobile.
The Division served during a World War when other branches were unable to take on new recruits. Due to budget restraints and changes in leadership, it was scrapped in January of 2010.
