TRS/Manifesto

This records the guiding principles of The Revolutionary Society, the new name of the The Real Spamicans after it had to be changed due to copyright. The manifesto was approved by party membership during the Pink Revolution and at the height of attempts by other UK Party presidents to shut down discussion and representative democracy in the eUK.

Politics for the People

TRS stands out in the eUK as a party that emphasises activity and active participation in the Politics Module. TRS maintains that without active participation in political entities such as Congress, and without honouring the in-game powers given to all elected representatives, democracy cannot function.TRS believes in-game powers and game mechanics should act as the basis of where power is held in the eUK.

TRS is against attempts to limit democracy, undermine elected positions, and obscure politics from the public. It has openly opposed suggestions from other top eUK parties such as installing tankocracies, banning party-citizen contact, concealing congress proceedings and removing authority from, or dissolving, Congress.

Community Spirit

TRS believes the Community is the heart of the eUK and eRepublik. As such domestic policies should be orientated around fostering community with dialogue, games, and idle chat. TRS champions the use of Discord, in-game feeds and the media module to help achieve this.

Principle to this is the view that the retention of new players should be a big priority for governments, and TRS acknowledges that active Media and Politics is a huge retention tool in addition to fostering an engaged and inclusive community.

Crucially TRS believes the Community should be welcoming to all people, and that we are all real people behind our citizen IDs. As such we strongly condemn real life prejudices entering the game, doxxing and bullying.

Open Dialogue

TRS has benefitted from members across old political spectrums joining the party. It boasts the widest range of experience of all eUK parties, and channels this into supporting new players on their eRep journey and helping members generate ideas, deliver policy and implement change. Key to this is our policy of open dialogue - all views are welcome in the party and we don't demand people all agree or follow any ‘whips’. We see the value in diverse opinions and acknowledge that the best way to develop policy and find solutions is through dialogue!

This open dialogue approach extends beyond our party. We believe in engaging across the political spectrum to solicit meaningful change. As such we have pioneered the publishing of policy articles, both as consultations and as giveaways so our policies are accessible for all to engage with. TRS is unique in maintaining an active party magazine, the SPAM Public Action Mag, where we share our ideas and coordinate community support, all in the interests of crossing the partisan divide.

Stepping up to stepping in

Whereas almost every other party identifies as libertarian, TRS believes the Government should act to enhance the experience of eUK players. This view forms the backbone of many core policy announcements, particularly around CP elections. We see a lot of opportunities for the machinery of state to do more, and for the eUK to orient itself towards being a more dynamic and engaged nation.

In practice this means challenging the status quo, and never accepting ‘it has always been that way’ as an answer for why we are doing things. We run policy groups around election cycles which generates a constant stream of ideas and action plans which we build into our platform and share for adoption by others and comments from the public.
