Gold Crisis
On January 19 2009 eRepublik was shut down for two hours[1] after the admins found that people had been using an exploit to make tens of thousands of 
Gold.
Some users asked for a complete game reset[2]. The Admins responded that this isn't a viable option and compared it to pressing the nuclear bomb button, which isn't fun at all.[3]
