Latvijas Goda pilsonis

Latvijas Goda pilsonis (Latvian citizen in honor) is an award presented monthly by Latvijas Hronists to Latvian citizen who has done something great for his country last month. The title is granted for life and can be awarded to each citizen only once. Every Latvian citizen is asked to suggest possible candidates. Then they are publicly announced to a special commission consisting of country president, ministers, party presidents, strongest soldiers, the best businessman and most popular newspaper redactors.
The award consists of medal and monetary award. The winning citizen of the month is awarded with 1/12 (currently 10G) of organization's year's budget. Budget consists of donations.
