The Ministry of Finance (MoF) informally The Treasury, is the government department responsible for developing and executing the British government's public finance and economic policies.
The Ministry has the largest hand in controlling the economic stability of the United Kingdom. The MoF controls the Bank of England, which is responsible for regulating the flow of currency into the market, and at what rate. It receives its funding from the National Treasury, with approval of the House of Commons.

Duties
