Congressional History

Doug Falkner was Mayor of Columbus until August 21st. He was considered a larger player in securing the region a hospital, along with fundraising by future Mayor, (Royamen). He decided to not run for another term and focus on his Congressional career. He endorsed Royamen, who was an early frontrunner of the August local election. However, Royamen got tough competition from a newer player, (Citizen HEM), who scrapped up 6 votes himself, but fell short to Royamen's ultimate 13 vote victory.

Royamen secured federal funds for the hospital, securing a level 3 hospital for the region. However, after that "old world" issues hit Royamen, and he was able to do very little more for the region.

The last Mayor election was between early front runner, Citizen HEM, GoBucks, and Royamen. Royamen gave up on campaigning half way through the race, realizing that his chances were lost. Citizen HEM secured endorsements from many citizens in the region, as such he took an early lead in the voting, however GoBucks caught up through the night and eventually won by 3 votes. HEM latter faults his lose to party line voting, citing his 10 election articles, versus GoBucks 2.

Citizen HEM was appointed City Manager, as GoBucks planned a rebate plan that befitted many citizens in the city. HEM and GoBucks also planned a City Forum, however the idea failed due to lack of participation.

The November 2008 Congressional election brought many changes to Ohio, which included controversy. It was a four person race which included Citizen HEM of America's Advancement Party, Royamen of the Libertarian Party, GoBucks of the United States Workers Party and Tiacha of the The Federalist Party. The election was first thought to be a sure race for Citizen HEM. But the race ended up being a two way race between GoBucks and Tiacha. The election was contested over a multi-accounter who voted for GoBucks. The multi-accounter was banned but his votes were not discounted. The election ended in a 9-9 tie and GoBucks was declared the winner by a bug in the election system even though Tiacha had one more experience point then GoBucks. After review, Tiacha was eventually declared the winner after the admins corrected this mistake. Citizen HEM eventually resigned his party presidency after his poor showing in the November 2008 election and America's Advancement Party's poor showing as a whole in the November 2008 election.
