Teknokratprisene (EN: The Technocrat Awards) was a shortlived project run by the administration in the political party Teknokratene. It's purpose was to give something back to the active members of the party that did so much to promote it within the game, and made it an enjoyable experience for them all.
Initially it was planned to have these awards twice a year, but due to the low activity and low amount of active players, the party agreed that they may just as well have only one ceremony a year. They settled on having the awards January each year.
The first Teknokratprisene (January 2010)
For the first and so far only award ceremony, there were only three categories, Newcomer of the Year, Technocrat of the Year, and Honorary Mention. The voting process was open to anyone that had registered on the Teknokrat websites, which lead to some abuse from the rivalling party, Binary Party, which rallied votes for the only candidate that didn't take part in a massive feud between TeK and BP at the time, Terje Hansen.
The candidates for the different categories were suggested from the members of the party. There were multiple prizes that were handed out, though all of them were in the simple form of a mention in an article, and a rather simple image of a trophy made by Eris Caelestis.
Newcomer of the Year
"This award is handed out to a Teknokrat that joined the party in the past year, in this event, 2009. He or she must have shown great will to improve and maintain bothNorway and Teknokratenes status in the country. It is not necessary for this user to have any vital positions or seats in government or any other part of the game, as long as the candidate has shown that he or she will do a lot for the country and the party."
Technocrat of the Year
"This award is handed out to a Teknokrat that has shown remarkable work throughout 2009, and that has been a member for the whole year. He/she has shown great spirit while working with Teknokratene, and has done a lot for the party and Norway. This award is only handed out to a member of the party."
"This is the most prestigious award of them all, and it even comes with a moderate price of five gold and a nice trophy with the user’s name engraved on it. He/she does not have to be a member of Teknokratene, nor is it necessary that he/she ever has been, but it sure helps. This person has shown that he or she really will go that far for Norway, or TeK."
