Quick Overview

Biography

August 2008

Derek Apollyon (also called DA), joined the New World on the third of the month. But it wasn't until closer to the end of the month that he started becoming active in the political scene (joining forums, etc).

September 2008

For the month of September DA spent his time observing the ins and outs of Canadian politics. One of his main achievements was (as Deputy of Social Services) participating in the maintenance of a list of all players in Canada who were in need of employment and coordinating the hiring of said Citizens into one of the government trainers. Closer to the end of the month when things were getting pretty heated between the main opposing parties of Canada, the Canadian Social Democrats and Canadian Progressive Front, came to a head in the last few days of the month with some nasty accusations from the CPF to Cottus Arci. Unfortunately, DA lost faith in his party leader (even going so far as to quite the party); but after talking with Cottus, DA rejoined the CSD and was elected to another term in Congress.

October 2008

In the later days of October, DA was doing business as usual (another Deputy Cabinet position, another term in Congress) when he observed some rather disturbing comments made in the Cabinet forum about a well known figure. When DA went public with this information (and resigned his Cabinet Position - that was on the 14th) he came under fire from the opposition under the guise of "releasing private information," but it was in the comments of the article that the info was released (by others - not DA). DA apologized, but the damage was already done. DA was asked to come back (and did) into Cabinet on the 17th as a Co-Minister of Industries.

November 2008

In November DA made some changes to his life. He decided to pack his bags and move to Australia to help the Independence movement. Later on, he served as the Substitute Commander of the Australian Medical Corp (AMC) "Redbacks" during Tecchi's absence between November 16 and November 28, 2008. After Tecchi's return, DA was asked to be the Australian Minister of Health. He also fought in the, failed, resistance war - as well as the subsequent "Indonesian approved" resistance wars.

December 2009

DA spent the month of December continuing to act as the Minister of Health and Second in command of the Redbacks, and helping with the rebuilding of the country after the Resistance Wars. Some other highlights are: elected to the First Congress of Australia, Proposing to Congress the "order of business," an act to ensure an ordered and democratic process, it also allowed for a predefined discussion time as well as a "pre-vote" on the Australian forums before it's proposed in eRepublik.

January 2009

In January, DA was asked to continue his role as MoH, but (re)defined as the new Minister of Social Services. He had just finished developing a Healthcare System (aka Wellness Scheme) when he was approached by Cottus to take the new Cabinet Position during a midterm shuffle, obviously, he accepted.

The month of January also saw DA kick his political career into high-gear with a successful last minute campaign for Party Presidency of the Aus Democratic Socialist Party (he won with 71.43% of the votes).

February 2009

For February Derek continued as the PP of the ADSP for another month, in addition to taking on the role of Deputy Prime Minister for Cottus Arci.

He also made a successful bid for the support of the party to have a go at becoming the next Prime Minister of Australia.

March 2009

DA had his hands full after becoming the third Prime Minister of Australia, so he can't really tell you about what happened during this month ;)

April/May 2009

For this time period, DA took a "retirement" from Australian Politics, it was also during this time that he focused on programming scripts for the Australian Government in addition to focusing on his companies and military career.

December 2009

For the month of December 2009, Derek Apollyon was the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia.

February 2010

Derek went to USA to fight on their side for a while as Australia doesn't have any battles open. Shortly thereafter left the game... for a time.

Democracy is not just voting every 5 years and watching Big Brother in between and wondering why nothing happens. Democracy is what we do and say where we live and work.
(Tony Benn)
Democratic socialism must be built brick by brick, and as each brick is put in place, more people may come to see the relevance of socialism.

I always cheer up immensely if an attack is particularly wounding because I think, well, if they attack one personally, it means they have not a single political argument left.
